1. A fluid for an electrowetting device, the fluid comprising:

  • a polarizable liquid; and

a nonpolar solution separated from the polarizable liquid by an interface, wherein the polarizable liquid comprises a polar solvent, an organic acid, and ammonium hydroxide having at least one alkyl group, wherein a weight of the organic acid with respect to a total weight of the polarizable liquid is 0.1% to 10%,wherein the polar solvent comprises ethylene glycol, 1,2-propylene glycol, 1,3-propylene glycol, diethylene glycol, propylene carbonate, diethyl carbonate, gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), dimethylformamide (DMF), N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP), or a mixture thereof, andwherein a weight ratio of the ammonium hydroxide having the at least one alkyl group to the organic acid is in a range of about 0.8 to about 1.2, andwhen the weight ratio is 1, the polarizable liquid has a first surface tension, when the weight ratio is 0.8, the polarizable liquid has a surface tension of about 50% of the first surface tension, andwhen the weight ratio is 1.2, the polarizable liquid has a surface tension of about 200% of the first surface tension.
