- receiving an audio file by a computing device, wherein the audio file comprises an audio start and an audio stop;
receiving a video preview file by the computing device, wherein the video preview file comprises a video start and a video stop, wherein the video preview file is generated from a portion of a full video;
analyzing an audio rule, wherein the audio rule specifies one or more criteria for how the audio file is to be played when the video preview file is played in response to an audio-video object being activated; and
generating the audio-video object that combines the audio file and the video preview file, wherein the audio file and the video preview file are played according to the audio rule when the audio-video object is activated, andwherein when the audio-video object is activated, the audio file is played according to the audio rule such that the audio start is not synchronized with the video start for at least a portion of a duration of playing the audio-video object.

The video previews may be associated with audio, such that when the video previews are activated, the audio may play with the video preview. When multiple video previews are organized to play as a playable group or composite of video previews, a corresponding composite audio file can play in response to an activation of the composite.
