1. A centering system for an aortic stent graft prosthesis, comprising:

  • a) a guidewire catheter (620) having a proximal end and a distal end;

    b) a nose cone (630) fixed to the distal end of the guidewire catheter (620);

    c) an apex clasp (636, 638) at the nose cone (630), the apex clasp (636, 638) longitudinally split into two halves or three thirds, wherein each half or third includes a split clasp mechanism that can releasably fix a proximal apex (32) of a bare stent component (30) at a proximal end of a stent graft prosthesis (1, 1100) extending about the guidewire catheter (620), whereby relative forward and backward movement among the two halves or three thirds of the clasp mechanism will change the orientation of the stent graft prosthesis (1, 1100) and thereby center the proximal end of the stent graft prosthesis (1, 1100) within an aortic treatment site.
