1. A nanofibrous membrane, comprising:

  • one or more electrospun nanofibers forming a layer of nanofibers affixed to a support structure, the layer of nanofibers extending across an opening of the support structure in a substantially planar orientation and affixed to the support structure along an edge of the opening by a non-toxic glue; and

    a plurality of magnetic nanoparticles embedded in the one or more electrospun nanofibers of the layer of nanofibers,where the layer of nanofibers deflects out-of-plane within the opening of the support structure in response to exposure to a magnetic field passing through the opening of the support structure, where the support structure is a machined printed circuit board (PCB) O-ring with the opening.
