a converter coupled to receive the first string output as a direct current input and generate a direct current output, wherein the first string output is connected in series with the direct current output, and wherein the converter is configured to match a voltage of the direct current output to a reference voltage; and
a bus powered by string outputs of a plurality of strings in parallel, the string outputs including the first string output of the first string.
