1. A method for channel access by a terminal in a wireless local area network, the method comprising:
- transmitting, to an access point, an association request frame;
receiving, from the access point, an association response frame to establish an association between the terminal and the access point, wherein the association response frame includes information indicating an association identifier (AID), wherein the association response frame specifies a length of a channel access slot associated with the terminal;
receiving, from the access point, a beacon frame including Traffic Indication Map (TIM) information and information assigning channel access windows, wherein one of the channel access windows is assigned as a trigger frame channel access window;
transmitting, to the access point, a trigger frame in a slot allocated to the terminal within the trigger frame channel access window, the slot allocated to the terminal being determined based on the TIM information and the AID; and
receiving, from the access point, in response to the trigger frame, an acknowledgement (ACK) frame specifying a timeslot allocated individually to the terminal to start a data transmission and a length of the specified data transmission timeslot, wherein the specified data transmission timeslot is one of a plurality of timeslots within a predetermined period after a certain time, and wherein the length of the specified data transmission timeslot comprises the length in which data can be received.

Abstract
A method of accessing a channel in a wireless LAN system is disclosed. A method of accessing a channel in a terminal includes receiving TIM information included in a beacon transmitted by an access point, determining a channel access slot allocated to the terminal based on the TIM information, transmitting a data transmission request to the access point in the channel access slot, and receiving data transmission slot allocation information corresponding to the data transmission request from the access point. Accordingly, a time slot can be prevented from unnecessarily wasting.
