Methods and systems for communicating estimated time of arrival to a third party
First Claim
1. A vehicle, comprising:
- a navigation system to provide a location and/or a route of the vehicle;
a memory to;
store user preferences associated with a user in the vehicle, the user being an occupant of the vehicle; and
a processor in communication with the navigation system and the memory, the processor to;
retrieve user preferences from the memory;
identify, while the vehicle is in motion, a first event, associated with a third party having a location disposed along the route of the vehicle;
determine, at a first time in response to identification of the first event and based on the user preferences, that the user desires to perform a transaction with the third party as long as the vehicle is traveling along the route;
send, automatically and in response to determining that the user desires to perform the transaction, a pre-transaction communication to the third party for the user, the pre-transaction communication being part of a secure session and enabling a pre-transaction authentication of the user by the third party, the pre-transaction communication being a first part of a two-part transaction authentication required to complete the transaction with the third party;
identify, at a second later time and while the vehicle is in motion, a different second event comprising determining whether the vehicle is traveling along the route;
send, automatically and in response to determining that the vehicle is traveling along the route, the authorization communication to the third party different from the pre-transaction communication, the communication being part of the secure session and being a second part of the two-part transaction authentication enabling the third party to complete the transaction with the user; and
send, automatically and in response to determining that the vehicle is no longer traveling along the route, a revocation communication to the third party that revokes the pre-transaction authentication of the user by the third party.

Abstract
A vehicle, based on user preferences and while the vehicle is in motion: in response to identification of a first event (e.g., a third party resident being in a vehicle location and/or on the route of the vehicle) and based on the user preferences, determines that the user desires to perform a transaction with the third party, automatically sends a first communication to the third party for the user (the first communication being part of a secure session and enabling authentication of the user by the third party), at a second later time and while the vehicle is in motion, and in response to identification of a second event, automatically sends a different second communication to the third party. The second communication is part of the secure session and enables the third party to complete the transaction with the user.

11. A method for communicating information with a vehicle, comprising:
-
determining, by a navigation system, a location and/or a route of the vehicle; determining, by a processor of the vehicle, a third party having a location disposed along the route of the vehicle; retrieving, by the processor, user preferences associated with a user in the vehicle from a memory; identifying, by the processor and while the vehicle is in motion, a first event associated with the determined third party having the location disposed along the route of the vehicle; determining, by the processor at a first time in response to identifying the first event and based on the user preferences, that the user desires to perform a transaction with the third party as long as the vehicle is traveling along the route; sending, automatically by the processor and in response to determining that the user desires to perform the transaction, a pre-transaction communication to the third party for the user, the pre-transaction communication being part of a secure session and enabling a pre-transaction authentication of the user by the third party, the pre-transaction communication being a first part of a two-part pre-transaction authentication required to complete the transaction with the third party; identifying, by the processor at a second later time and while the vehicle is in motion, a different second event comprising determining whether the vehicle is traveling along the route; sending, automatically by the processor in response to determining that the vehicle is traveling along the route, an authorization communication to the third party different from the pre-transaction communication, the authorization communication being part of the secure session and being a second part of the two-transaction authentication enabling the third party to complete the transaction with the user; and sending, automatically and in response to determining that the vehicle is no longer traveling along the route, a revocation communication to the third party that revokes the pre-transaction authentication of the user by the third party. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)
