1. A system for reducing pulsatile arterial elastance and increasing pulsatile arterial compliance, comprising:
- a fluid reservoir having a housing, said housing defining a unitary fluid chamber within said fluid reservoir for holding a fluid therewithin;
an injection port fluidly connected to said fluid reservoir, said injection port being separate from said fluid reservoir or mounted directly on said fluid reservoir;
a transvascular conduit; and
a compliant body that is compressible and generally elastic, defines an internal volume, and is configured to be placed within a vascular lumen of a patient,wherein said fluid is pressurized such that said internal volume of said compliant body changes between an expanded state and a contracted state when subjected to changing pressure within the vascular lumen, andthe transvascular conduit fluidly connects said fluid reservoir and said compliant body.

A device for reducing pressure within a lumen includes a reservoir structured for holding a fluid therein, an injection port in fluid communication with the reservoir, a compliant body structured to expand and contract upon changes in pressure, and a conduit extending between and fluidly coupling the reservoir and the compliant body. The fluid may be a compressible or a noncompressible fluid.

16. A system for reducing pulsatile pressure comprising:

a reservoir structured to be implanted subcutaneously, said reservoir for holding a fluid therewithin; an injection port in fluid communication with the reservoir; a transvascular conduit; and a compliant body structured to be implanted in a lumen of a vessel, said compliant body including at least one compliant body lumen, wherein said fluid is pressurized such that said compliant body changes between an expanded state and a contracted state upon changes in pressure in the vessel, the transvascular conduit extends between and fluidly couples the reservoir and said at least one compliant body lumen, and said changes to the contracted state of the compliant body results in a reduction in peak pressure in the vessel. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29)
