Abstract

The present invention provides a method and system for verifying and tracking identification information. In an embodiment of the invention, a system for delivering security solutions is provided that includes at least one of the following: a radio frequency (RF) identification device, an identification mechanism (e.g., a card, sticker), and an RF reader.

Claims

1. A mobile device, comprising:

short range radio frequency (RF) circuitry;

a memory coupled to the short range RF circuitry and configured to store biometric authentication information and payment information, wherein the biometric authentication information is associated with a user associated with the payment information;

a biometric reading device configured to read biometric information; and

one or more processors operably coupled to the memory, short range RF circuitry, and the biometric reading device, the one or more processors configured to execute instructions stored in the memory that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to perform operations of;

establishing a connection with a point of sale (POS) device, via the short range RF circuitry, wherein the connection is established to conduct a secure transaction between the mobile device and the POS device,

prompting the user to provide biometric information to the biometric reading device,

authenticating that the biometric information read by the biometric reading device is associated with the user associated with the payment information based on the biometric authentication information stored in the memory,

in response to the authentication, generating a key,

securing the payment information stored in the memory, and

transmitting to the POS device, via the short range RF circuitry, the key and the secured payment information for use in the secure transaction.

2. The mobile device of claim 1, wherein the payment information is associated with a primary account number.

3. The mobile device of claim 1, wherein the biometric authentication information is stored separately from the secured payment information.

4. A system, comprising:

a mobile device, comprising;

short range radio frequency (RF) circuitry;

a memory configured to store biometric authentication information and payment information, wherein the biometric authentication information is associated with a user associated with the payment information;

a biometric reading device configured to read biometric information;

one or more processors operably coupled to the memory, short range RF circuitry, and the biometric reading device, the one or more processors configured to execute instructions stored in the memory that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to perform operations of;

establishing a connection with a point of sale (POS) device, via the short range RF circuitry, wherein the connection is established to conduct a secure transaction between the mobile device and the POS device,

prompting the user to provide biometric information to the biometric reading device,

authenticating that the biometric information read by the biometric reading device is associated with the user associated with the payment information based at least in part on the biometric authentication information stored in the memory,

in response to authenticating, generating a key,

securing the payment information stored in the memory, and

transmitting to the POS device, via the short range RF circuitry,

the key and the secured payment information for use in the secure transaction;

the POS device comprising at least one memory and at least one processor operably coupled to the at least one memory of the POS device, the at least one memory of the POS device storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor of the POS device causes the at least one processor of the POS device to perform operations of;

receiving, from the mobile device, the secured payment information and the key; and

transmitting the key and the secure payment information based to a central database; and

the central database comprising at least one memory and at least one processor operably coupled to the memory of the central database, the at least one memory of the central database storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor of the central database causes the at least one processor of the central database to perform operations of;

receiving, from the POS, the secured payment information and the key; and

validating the key and the secured payment information to complete the secured transaction.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the payment information is associated with a primary account number.

6. The system of claim 4, wherein the POS device includes an RF reader.

7. The system of claim 4, wherein the biometric authentication information is stored separately from the secured payment information.
