Abstract

Disclosed are a biochip for measuring blood glucose levels and a blood glucose meter for a smartphone including the same. The biochip for measuring blood glucose levels includes: a substrate, one surface of which is provided with a blood glucose inflow region into which blood glucose flows and with a reaction region that is connected to the blood glucose inflow region and has a recess formed therein, a porous separator disposed on the blood glucose inflow region to face the surface of the substrate, and silica nanoparticles and a reaction reagent distributed on the reaction region of the substrate. Thereby, blood glucose levels can be measured using such a biochip, which is easy to carry, together with a CMOS image sensor, and particularly, blood glucose levels can be simply measured using a CMOS image sensor provided to a smartphone, and blood glucose levels can be quantitatively measured and checked using a blood glucose meter application installed on a smartphone.

Claims

1. A biochip for measuring blood glucose levels, comprising:

a substrate, one surface of which is provided with a blood glucose inflow region into which blood glucose flows and with a reaction region that is connected to the blood glucose inflow region and has a recess formed therein;

a porous separator disposed above the blood glucose inflow region to face the surface of the substrate; and

silica nanoparticles and a reaction reagent distributed on the reaction region of the substrate,

wherein the recess accommodates the blood glucose and constitutes a photon detection region.

2. The biochip of claim 1, further comprising a cap member disposed on the reaction region of the substrate.

3. The biochip of claim 2, wherein the cap member has a protrusion, and a convex portion of the protrusion and a concave portion of the recess are lined up and oriented away from each other to form a space therebetween.

4. The biochip of claim 3, wherein the space accommodates blood glucose and constitutes a photon detection region.

The biochip of claim 1, wherein the porous separator comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of nitrocellulose, polysulfone, polyester, polyamide, polyimide, polyamideimide, poly(meta-phenylene isophthalamide), polyetherketone, polyetherimide, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinylidene fluoride, perfluoropolymer, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, polyethylene glycol derivatives, polyoxide, polyvinylacetate, polystyrene, polyacrylonitrile, polymethylmethacrylate, and non-woven fabrics.

6. The biochip of claim 1, wherein the silica nanoparticles are functionalized with a hydrophilic functional group.

7. The biochip of claim 6, wherein the hydrophilic functional group comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of an amine group, a carboxyl group, a hydroxyl group, and a thiol group.

8. The biochip of claim 1, wherein the silica nanoparticles have a diameter of 10 to 300 nm.

9. The biochip of claim 1, wherein the reaction reagent comprises glucose oxidase and chromogen.

10. The biochip of claim 9, wherein the glucose oxidase comprises glucose oxidase immobilized to the silica nanoparticles.

11. The biochip of claim 9, wherein the chromogen is any one selected from the group consisting of 2,2′

-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid), O-dianisidine, O-toluidine-blue, potassium iodide, tetramethyl benzidine, meta[3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinonehydrazone] N-sulfonyl benzenesulfonate monosodium combined with 8-anilino-1-naphthalene sulfonic acid ammonium (MBTHSB-ANS), 3,3′

,5,5′

-tetramethylbenzidine and syringaldazine, primaquine diphosphate, thiazole yellow G, and auramine O-anhydrous.

12. The biochip of claim 9, wherein the reaction reagent further comprises peroxidase.

The biochip of claim 1, wherein the substrate further comprises a blood glucose absorption region that is connected to the reaction region in a direction away from the blood glucose inflow region of the substrate, and the biochip further comprises an absorption member disposed on the blood glucose absorption region.

14. The biochip of claim 1, wherein the substrate and the cap member have light transmissivity.

The biochip of claim 1, wherein the substrate and the cap member each independently comprise at least one selected from the group consisting of polyester, polyacrylate, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polysulfone (PS), polyethersulfone (PES), polycarbonate (PC), polyarylate (PAR), polyimide (PI), polyamide, and glass.

16. The biochip of claim 13, wherein the biochip includes at least one selected from among a first adhesive member disposed between the substrate and the cap member, and a second adhesive member disposed between the cap member and the porous separator,

the first adhesive member has therein a through-hole corresponding to the blood glucose inflow region, the reaction region, and the blood glucose absorption region, and

the second adhesive member has therein a blood glucose through-hole corresponding to the blood glucose inflow region so as to pass blood glucose therethrough.

17. The biochip of claim 16, wherein one end of the cap member does not overlap with all or a portion of the blood glucose through-hole of the second adhesive member.

18. The biochip of claim 1, further comprising a pad member disposed on the porous separator.
