Abstract

The method for managing menu functions in a mobile station includes the steps of executing menu edition, selecting menu items the user uses frequently in the executed menu edition, to set up a menu, executing the menu, and displaying the menu of the selected menu items at first. The basic menu inclusive of all menu items the mobile station provides is selected as a last menu item of the mode menu displayed at first so that the user can access to menu items other than the menu items of preference. By providing easy mode menu with menu items the user or manufacturer of the mobile station uses frequently in advance, and displaying on a display window at first, the user is permitted a quick and easy access to a desired menu item without going through many steps of menus for using the desired menu item.

Claims

1. A method for managing menu functions in a mobile station, comprising the steps of:

selecting only menu items of preference from basic menu items of a mobile station, to fabricate an easy(EZ) mode menu; and

,

displaying menu items of the easy mode menu on the display window of the mobile station at first in using menu functions of the mobile station.

2. A method as claimed in

claim 1

, wherein a last menu item of the easy mode menu is the basic menu inclusive of all menu items the mobile station provides so that the user can access to menu items other than the menu items of preference.

3. A method as claimed in

claim 1

, wherein the EZ mode menu of the menu items of preference is fabricated by the user in a process of menu edition after the mobile station is fabricated.

, wherein the menu items of preference are menu items the user uses frequently.

, wherein the menu items of preference are menu items selected from statistics of menu items recently used frequently by the mobile station.

6. A method as claimed in

, wherein the process of menu edition includes the steps of;

the user pressing buttons of the process of menu edition on a key panel of the mobile station, to display the main menu items of the basic menu on the display window in succession;

the user selecting one of main menu items by using cursor moving buttons on the key panel, to display submenu items of the selected main menu on the display window, together with check boxes therefor,

the user selecting desired items from the submenu items by using the cursor moving buttons and the selection button, to mark selection symbols in the check boxes of the selected submenu items;

displaying the main menu items on the display window when the user intends to return to a level of the main menu by using the buttons; and

,

repeating the above steps until the user complete the process of menu edition.

7. A method as claimed in

, wherein the EZ mode menu of the menu items of preference is fabricated by a manufacturer of the mobile station together with the basic menu at a stage of development of the mobile station.

, wherein all menu items of the EZ mode menu are displayed on the display window in icon forms by using graphics.

9. A method for managing menu functions in a mobile station, comprising the steps of:

selecting only menu items of preference from basic menu items of a mobile station, to fabricate an easy (EZ) mode menu;

displaying main items of the basic menu inclusive of the easy mode menu items on the display window when the user presses a menu button on a key panel for using a menu function; and

,

when the user selects one of the main menu items inclusive of the easy mode menu items, displaying submenu items of the selected main menu or menu items of the EZ mode menu on the display window.

10. A method as claimed in

, wherein all the menu items of the EZ mode menu are displayed on the display window in icon forms by using graphics.

, wherein the EZ mode menu item is a first main menu item of the basic menu.

12. A method for managing menu functions in a mobile station, comprising the steps of:

selecting only menu items of preference from basic menu items of a mobile station, to fabricate an easy (EZ) mode menu;

displaying menu items of the easy mode menu on the display window in succession when the user presses a menu button on a key panel for using a menu function; and

,

when the user selects one of the easy mode menu items, a function corresponding to the selected menu item is carried out.

, wherein a last menu item of the easy mode menu is the basic menu inclusive of all menu items the mobile station provides so that the user can access to menu items other than the menu items of preference.

, wherein all the menu items of the EZ mode menu are displayed on the display window in icon forms by using graphics.

, wherein the mobile station has a button for immediately displaying the EZ mode menu on the display window when the user presses the button.
