1. A pivotably mounted power distribution unit within a computer system, the pivotably mounted power distribution unit comprising:
- a power distribution unit housing with an input power port and a number of output power ports;
internal power distribution unit components that route electrical current from the input power port to the output power ports; and
at least one mounting hinge, the at least one mounting hinge being fixedly attached to the power distribution unit housing and fixedly mounted within the computer system so that the power distribution unit is pivotable and movable from a first position within the computer system, where the power distribution unit blocks access to a component of the computer system, so a second position in which the power distribution unit is extended at least partially out from within the computer system, where the power distribution unit does not block access to the component of the computer system.

Abstract
A power distribution unit adapted for mounting within an electronic system. The power distribution unit includes at least one mounting hinge that is fixedly attached to the power distribution unit housing and which is adapted to fixedly mount the power distribution unit to an enclosure of the electronic system or to an internal support or component within the electronic equipment enclosure. The mounting hinge is pivotable such that the power distribution unit can be pivoted to an extended position to facilitate removal of removable modules mounted within the electronic system.
