Abstract

The present invention provides a synchronization establishing device and method for establishing synchronization at a high speed in a receiver. This synchronization establishing device includes a storage unit that accumulates reception data, and a matched filter that reads out the reception data accumulated in the storage unit in parallel and determines a correlation value by obtaining correlation between a common code and the reception data in parallel. The present invention also provides the receiver.

Claims

1. A synchronization establishing device that establishes synchronization in a receiver, said device comprising:

a data storage unit that accumulates reception data; and

a correlation value detection unit that reads out the reception data accumulated in the data storage unit in parallel, and determines a correlation value by establishing correlation with a predetermined code in parallel.

2. The synchronization establishing device as claimed in

claim 1

, further comprising a second correlation value detection value unit that establishes correlation between a second code and the correlation value determined by the correlation value detection unit.

3. The synchronization establishing device as claimed in

claim 1

, wherein the data storage unit has a storage area that is divided into the number of bits held by the predetermined code.

4. The synchronization establishing device as claimed in

claim 1

, wherein the correlation value detection unit is a matched filter.

5. The synchronization establishing device as claimed in

claim 1

, wherein,

when the predetermined code includes N bits, with N being a natural number,

the data storage unit includes N storage areas, and accumulates N sampling data obtained by sampling the reception data in each corresponding one of the N storage areas, and

the correlation value detection unit reads out the N sampling data in parallel.

6. A method of establishing synchronization in a receiver, said method comprising the steps of:

accumulating reception data;

reading out the accumulated reception data in parallel; and

determining a correlation value by establishing correlation with a predetermined code and the reception data in parallel.

7. The method as claimed in

, further comprising the step of establishing correlation between the correlation value and a second code.

8. The method as claimed in

claim 6

, wherein, when the predetermined code includes N bits, with N being a natural number,

the accumulating step accumulates N sampling data obtained by sampling the reception data in N storage areas, respectively, and

the reading out step reads out the N sampling data from the N storage areas in parallel.

9. A receiver that receives reception data by establishing synchronization based on an obtained correlation value, said receiver comprising:

a data storage unit that accumulates the reception data; and

a correlation value detection unit that reads out the reception data accumulated in the data storage unit, and determines the correlation value by establishing correlation between a predetermined code and the reception data in parallel.
