Abstract

Modular seat layout system in an automobile vehicle, especially for the seats of the first and second rows Modular seat layout system in an automobile vehicle, including at least two seats (1, 2) located one behind the other. The front seat (1) is attached to the floor (4) of the vehicle by a first set of hinged items (14, 15) so that the seat pan (11) of the front seat can translate forwards to be housed, in a forward position, in the space (E) existing in front of the front seat when it is in normal utilization position and the backrest (12) extends more or less horizontally towards the rear from the seat pan, more or less at the location that the said seat pan occupies in normal utilization position. The rear seat (2) is attached to the floor (4) by a second set of hinged items (24, 25, 28) so that the said rear set can be folded and placed against the backrest (12) of the front seat.

Claims

1. Modular seat layout system for an automobile vehicle including at least two seats (1, 2) located one behind the other, characterised in that the front seat (1) is attached to the floor (4) of the vehicle by a first set of hinged items (14, 15) so that the seat pan (11) of the front seat can be translated towards the front to be housed, in a forward position, in the space (E) existing in front of the front seat when it is in normal utilisation position and the backrest (12) extends more or less horizontally towards the rear from the seat pan more or less to the location that the said seat pan occupies in normal utilisation position, and the rear seat (2) is attached to the floor (4) by a second set of hinged items (24, 25, 28) so that the said rear seat can be folded up and placed against the backrest (12) of the front seat.

, characterised in that the backrest (12) of the front seat is installed so as to pivot in relation to the seat pan (11) and includes disconnectable locking means (20, 20′

) to connect the top of the backrest of the front seat to the body of the vehicle.

, characterised in that the second set of hinged items (24, 25, 28) is arranged so that the seat pan (21) of the rear seat (2) can be raised more or less to the vertical by pivoting forwards (F1) and the backrest (22) of the rear seat can be translated (F2) to place it behind the thus raised seat pan.

, characterised in that, from the position where the backrest (22) of the rear seat is placed behind the raised seat pan (21) of the said rear seat, the seat assembly thus folded is placed against (F3) the backrest (12) of the front seat, the rear face (220) of the backrest (22) of the rear seat being then more or less horizontal.

, characterised in that the first set of hinged items includes two arms (14, 15) extending more or less parallel, hinged, on the one hand, in relation to the seat pan (11) and, on the other hand, in relation to a base (17) of the seat connected to the floor (4) so as to form with the said seat pan and the said base a deformable parallelogram.

, characterised in that the longitudinal position of the base (17) is adjustable in relation to the floor (4).

) to connect the top of the backrest of the rear seat to the body of the vehicle.

, characterised in that the second set of hinged items includes:

a front seat pan support (27), fixed and attached to the floor (4) on which the front of the seat pan (21) of the rear seat is hinged,

a rear leg (24) the upper end of which accommodates the backrest (22) of the rear seat which is attached to the seat pan (21) by a pivoting link (25) hinged to the leg and to the seat pan in a longitudinal centre section of the seat pan.

10. System in accordance with

, characterised in that it includes disconnectable anchoring means (47) to connect in a separable manner the lower end of the rear leg (24) to the floor (4) of the vehicle.
