18. A method of adding a further destination to a multicast connection tree between a source and a plurality of destinations comprising the steps of:
-
a. calculating a set of routes from the source to the further destination without any Quality of Service constraint, b. selecting the optimal route from the set of routes, c. calculating a make segment to be added to the existing multicast tree by eliminating the part from the optimal route which is common to the already existing multicast tree, to leave the segment d. calculating a set of segment routes with a Quality of Service constraint; and
e. selecting the optimal segment route from the set and adding the segment route to the multicast tree. - View Dependent Claims (19)
