Abstract
A system for a computer user to view a specific item over a computer network, such as the Internet. A computer user may enter a request in the search box generated by a small program on the user'"'"'s computer, on Internet browser command line, or in a seach box on the site of a web vendor. The words entered by the user are interpreted by the system, and the user is promptly linked to a Web page specifically relating to the item described. Such interpretation includes searching for synonyms, consideration that spaces should be added or that the request is made up of multiple words, interpreting the request if it is written in slang. Further, the analysis ensures that entries describing the same item in different ways are directed to the identical web page. In addition, the system may use trend analysis to more accurately predict to what a particular request is referring. Accordingly, the process of navigating the Web in order to obtain an item over the Internet becomes substantially easier and more intuitive.
