Abstract
An antenna comprising a substrate and a folded radiating element. The folded radiating element and the substrate define a resonant cavity which produces a wide beamwidth, and substantially hemispherical radiation pattern. An antenna constructed in accordance with the present invention can be incorporated into a transceiver system. The radiation pattern produced by the antenna is suitable for use in wireless communication systems operating in the PCS and DCS frequency ranges.
