1. In a system having a plurality of end-users that remotely access a network having at least a hub site and a plurality of provider sites, a method of identifying for at least one of the end-users a location on the network of at least one of the providers, comprising:
- receiving, at the hub site, code information corresponding to one or more codes provided by the end-user;
in response to the code information, retrieving from a profile database associated with the hub site network address information corresponding to the location on the network of a provider that is associated with the received code information; and
using the network address information to direct the end-user to the location on the network of the associated provider, wherein the profile database comprises a user-record corresponding to each end-user;
each user-record comprising public information that the end-user submits to the hub site and that the end-user expects will be shared with one or more of the providers without permission of the end-user, private information that the end-user submits to the hub site and that the end-user expects will not be shared with any of the providers without permission of the end-user, and a non-externally identifying symbol associated with the user-record that identifies the end-user on the network.

Abstract
A plurality of end users remotely access a network that includes a hub site and a number of provider sites. Upon the end user inputting code information, network address information corresponding to a location on the network of a provider that is associated with the codes is identified. The end user is directed to that location on the network. The user may annotate the code information, which is then stored in the hub site.

4. In a system having a plurality of end-users that remotely access a network having at least a hub site and a plurality of provider sites, a method of identifying for at least one of the end-users a location on the network of at least one of the providers and preserving user annotated code information, comprising:
-
receiving, at the hub site, code information corresponding to one or more codes provided by the end-user;
in response to the code information, retrieving from a profile database associated with the hub site network address information corresponding to the location on the network of a provider that is associated with the received code information;
using the network address information to direct the end-user to the location on the network of the associated provider;
receiving from the end-user at the hub site user annotated code information;
storing said user annotated code information at the hub site.

5. A system for identifying for at least one end-user a location of at least one provider, comprising:
-
a network comprising at least a hub site and a plurality of provider sites, wherein a plurality of end-users remotely access the network, wherein code information corresponding to one or more codes provided by the end-user is received at the hub site; and
a profile database associated with the hub site from which network address information corresponding to the location on the network of a provider that is associated with the received code information is retrieved in response to the code information, wherein the profile database comprises a user-record corresponding to each end-user;
each user-record comprising public information that the end-user submits to the hub site and that the end-user expects will be shared with one or more of the providers without permission of the end-user, private information that the end-user submits to the hub site and that the end-user expects will not be shared with any of the providers without permission of the end-user, and a non-externally identifying symbol associated with the user-record that identifies the end-user on the network; and
wherein the network address information is used to direct the end-user to the location on the network of the associated provider.

6. A system for identifying for at least one of end-users a location of at least one provider and for preserving user annotated code information:
-
a network comprising at least a hub site and a plurality of provider sites, wherein a plurality of end-users remotely access the network, wherein code information corresponding to one or more codes provided by the end-user is received at the hub site; and
a profile database associated with the hub site from which network address information corresponding to the location on the network of a provider that is associated with the received code information is retrieved in response to the code information, wherein the network address information is used to direct the end-user to the location on the network of the associated provider, wherein user annotated code information is received from the end-user at the hub site, and wherein said user annotated code information is stored at the hub site.
