Abstract

The present invention relates to shaped articles which release agrochemical active compounds, are used for treatment of woody plants and

are employed in a hollow preformed in the woody plant,

are of a volume which fills the volume of the hollow to the extent of 10 to 95%,

are of a volume which does not increase during the period of use to the extent that the preformed hollow space is filled completely,

comprise

a) agrochemical active compounds,

b) water-insoluble thermoplastically processable polymers,

c) water-soluble polymers and

d) is appropriate further auxiliaries.

Claims

1. Shaped articles which release agrochemical active compounds, are used for treatment of woody plants and

are employed in a hollow preformed in the woody plant,

are of a volume which fills the volume of the hollow to the extent of 10 to 95%,

are of a volume which does not increase during the period of use to the extent that the preformed hollow space is filled completely,

comprise

a) agrochemical active compounds,

b) water-insoluble thermoplastically processable polymers,

c) water-soluble polymers and

d) if appropriate further auxiliaries.

2. Shaped articles according to claim 1 which release agrochemical active compounds, characterized in that the water-insoluble thermoplastically processable polymer is a vinyl acetate polymer.

3. Shaped articles according to claim 1 which release agrochemical active compounds, characterized in that the weight ratio of water-insoluble thermoplastically processable polymer to water-soluble polymer is 15:

4. Shaped articles according to claim 1 which release agrochemical active compounds, characterized in that they comprise 0.1 to 70% by weight of active compound.

5. Polymer blends comprising

a) agrochemical active compounds,

b) water-insoluble thermoplastically processable polymers,

c) water-soluble polymers

d) if appropriate further auxiliaries.

6. Process for the production of shaped articles which release agrochemical active compounds, characterized in that blends according to claim 5 are extruded or processed by injection moulding in a manner known per se.
