Abstract

A method of determining a communications channel including detecting whether a host is in a system; if a host is detected, querying the host for a channel on which to communicate and switching a channel selection logic based on a result from the query; and if a host is not detected, determining a channel on which to communicate based on the number of devices on each channel.

Claims

1. A method of determining a communications channel comprising the steps of:

(a) detecting whether a host is in a system;

(b) if a host is detected, querying the host for a channel on which to communicate and switching a channel selection logic based on a result from the query; and

(c) if a host is not detected, determining a channel on which to communicate based on the number of devices on each channel.
