1. A method comprising:

automatically obtaining and transferring digital data based on user specified preferences from a wide area network to a computer; and

automatically sending the digital data from the computer to a client device using a wireless data transceiver.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising manipulating the digital data on the client device from the computer.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein manipulating the digital data on the client device from the computer includes sending signals to the computer via a remote controller.

4. The method of claim 1 further comprising manipulating the digital data on the client device from a website.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising manipulating the digital data on the client device from a portable electronic device.

6. The method of claim 1 further comprising retaining user specified preferences in a database on the computer.

7. The method of claim 1 further comprising tagging digital content to aggregate a record of that content on a tag aggregation webpage.

8. The method of claim 1 further comprising identifying the client device by a specified serial number.

9. A machine-readable storage medium tangibly embodying a sequence of instructions executable by the machine to perform a method, the method comprising:

automatically obtaining and transferring digital data based on user specified preferences from a wide area network to a computer; and

automatically sending the digital data from the computer to a client device using a wireless data transceiver.

10. A method comprising:

automatically obtaining and transferring digital data based on user specified preferences from a wide area network to a computer; and

automatically sending the digital data from the computer to a television using a wireless data transceiver.

11. The method of claim 10 further comprising converting the digital data to a format capable of being displayed on the television.

12. The method of claim 10 further comprising manipulating the digital data on the television from the computer.

13. The method of claim 12 wherein manipulating the digital data on the television from the computer includes sending signals to the computer via a remote controller.

14. The method of claim 10 further comprising manipulating the digital data on the television from a website.

15. The method of claim 10 further comprising manipulating the digital data on the television from a portable electronic device.

16. The method of claim 10 further comprising storing user specified preferences in a database on the computer.

17. The method of claim 10 further comprising tagging digital content to aggregate a record of that content on a tag aggregation webpage.

18. The method of claim 10 further comprising identifying the television by a specified serial number.

19. A machine-readable storage medium tangibly embodying a sequence of instructions executable by the machine to perform a method, the method comprising:

automatically obtaining and transferring digital data based on user specified preferences from a wide area network to a computer; and

automatically sending the digital data from the computer to a television using a wireless data transceiver.

20. A method comprising:

automatically obtaining and transferring digital data based on user specified preferences from a wide area network to a computer;

turning on a television at a specified time based on the preferences; and

automatically sending the digital data to the television using a wireless data transceiver.

21. The method of claim 20 further comprising shutting the television off for a predetermined period of time in response to a remote controller sending a signal to the computer.

22. The method of claim 21 wherein shutting the television off includes stopping the sending of digital data to the television.

23. The method of claim 20 further comprising converting the digital data to a format capable of being displayed on the television.

24. The method of claim 20 further comprising manipulating the digital data on the television.

25. The method of claim 20 further comprising storing user specified preferences in a database on the computer.

27. The method of claim 26 further comprising shutting off the audio playback device for a predetermined period of time in response to a remote controller sending a signal to the computer.

28. The method of claim 27 wherein shutting off the audio playback device includes stopping the sending of digital data to the audio playback device.

29. The method of claim 26 further comprising converting the digital data to a format capable of being played on the audio playback device.

30. The method of claim 26 further comprising manipulating the digital data on the audio playback device.

31. The method of claim 26 further comprising storing user specified preferences in a database on the computer.

26. A method comprising:

automatically obtaining and transferring digital data based on user specified preferences from a wide area network to a computer;

turning on an audio playback device at a specified time based on the preferences; and

automatically sending the digital data to the audio playback device using a wireless data transceiver.

32. A method comprising:

determining a plurality of preferences based on primary digital data sent to a television;

automatically searching for related ancillary digital data on a wide area network based on the preferences;

receiving the related ancillary digital data to a computer; and

automatically sending the related ancillary digital data to a client device using a wireless data transceiver.

33. The method of claim 32 further comprising storing the ancillary digital content in a database on the computer.

34. The method of claim 32 further comprising tagging the ancillary digital content to aggregate a record of that content on a tag aggregation webpage.

35. The method of claim 32 further comprising manipulating the ancillary digital content on the client device.

36. The method of claim 32 further comprising obtaining new ancillary digital content in response to changing the primary content on the television.
