Abstract

A program is generated by combining program modules by displaying programs for guiding the combination of program modules and selecting one of the programs. Program modules stored in a memory are displayed on a display device by a command inputted from the input device, navigation programs for guiding the combination of program modules stored in the memory are retrieved by a command inputted from the input device, the retrieved navigation program group are displayed on the display device, a desired navigation program is selected from the navigation program group displayed on the display device, the navigation program is executed, a guide parameter outputted by the navigation program for the combination of program modules is designated, a connector module for combining program modules is generated from the guide parameter inputted from the input device, and the generated connector module is stored in the memory.

Claims

1. A method for generating a program by combining program modules on an information processing system having a computer, a memory and input/output devices, comprising steps of:

(a) visually displaying program modules stored in the memory on a display device by a command inputted from the input device;

(b) retrieving navigation programs for guiding the combination of program modules stored in the memory by a command inputted from the input device;

(c) displaying the retrieved navigation program group on the display device;

(d) selecting a desired navigation program from the navigation program group displayed on the dis15 play device by a command inputted from the input device;

(e) executing the navigation program;

(f) designating a guide parameter outputted by the navigation program for the combination of program modules by a command inputted from the input device;

(g) generating a connector module for combining program modules from the guide parameter inputted from the input device; and

(h) storing the generated connector module in the memory.

2. A method for generating a program according to claim 1 further comprising the step of:

operating the program module visually displayed on the display device by a command inputted from the input device to read a navigation program stored in a memory of other than its own information processing system by a command inputted from the input device.

3. A method for generating a program according to claim 1 further comprising the step of:

operating the program module displayed on the display device to conduct the retrieval of the navigation programs stored in the memory in accordance with authorization of a user by a command inputted from the input device.

4. A method for generating a program according to claim 1 further comprising the step of:

displaying the retrieved navigation program group on the display device in a descending order of selection frequency.
