Abstract

A pre-measured portion package (2) for preparing a brewed beverage, which comprises a container containing an aroma carrier (13). The container has a circumferential side wall (7), a bottom (8) and a lid (10), wherein the lid (10) is designed at least in part as a filter, wherein the side wall (7) and the bottom (8) form one piece and are produced by a deep-drawing from a plastic non-woven material (6) or a plastic/paper blend capable of filtering and wherein at least the side-wall region is compacted so as to be water impermeable. The lid (10) is also made of a plastic non-woven material or plastic/paper blend capable of filtering and is compacted in its circumferential edge region (11), so as to be water-impermeable, and the lid (10) is connected to the upper edge of the side wall (7) so as to seal it. The advantage of the invention in particular is that the pre-measured portion package (2) consists only of a starting material, namely a plastic non-woven material or a plastic/paper blend material capable of filtering, and has a relatively simple design.

Claims

1. A pre-measured portion package for preparing a brewed beverage from an aroma carrier such as coffee or tea, said package comprising a container filled with a pre-measured portion of the aroma carrier and having a circumferential side wall, a bottom and a lid, with the lid being, at least in part, water permeable and with the bottom being, at least in some sections, water permeable and functioning as a filter, and wherein:

the side wall and the bottom are formed of a single piece or material and produced by a deep-drawing technique from one of a plastic non-woven material and a plastic/paper blend material that are each water soluble and capable of filtering;

at least the side-wall region of the container is compacted so as to be water impermeable;

the lid is also produced from one of the plastic non-woven material and the plastic/paper blend, each capable of filtering, and is compacted in its circumferential edge region so as to be water impermeable; and

the lid is connected to an upper edge of the side wall so as to form a seal.

2. A pre-measured portion package according to claim 1, wherein the upper edge of the side wall has an outwardly directed circumferential flange on which the lid rests, and to which the lid is connected to provide the seal.

3. A pre-measured portion package according to claim 2, wherein the material from which the side wall, the bottom and the lid are formed is a polymer plastic non-woven material.

4. A pre-measured portion package according to claim 1, wherein the material from which the side wall, the bottom and the lid are formed is a polymer plastic non-woven material.

5. A pre-measured portion package according to claim 1, wherein the lid is fused to the upper edge of the side wall.

6. A pre-measured portion package according to claim 1, wherein a circumferential edge region of the bottom as well as the side wall are compacted so as to be impermeable to water.

7. A pre-measured portion package according to claim 1, wherein the side wall and the bottom are formed from a plastic/paper composite material.
