Abstract

The invention related to a system for medical detection and treatment comprising a number of treatment and/or detection devices which exchange data with each other within the context of a medical treatment, in particular a surgical or radiotherapeutic and/or radiosurgical operation, wherein the data are exchanged via radio interfaces in and/or on the devices.

Claims

1. A system for medical detection and treatment comprising a number of treatment and/or detection devices which exchange data with each other within the context of a medical treatment, in particular a surgical or radiotherapeutic and/or radiosurgical operation, characterised in that said data are exchanged via radio interfaces in and/or on said devices.

2. The system as set forth in claim 1, characterised in that said radio transmission is possible over short distances within a treatment room in an ISM (industrial, scientific, medical) band, and at low energy, in particular around 1 mW, in the high-frequency range.

3. The system as set forth in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that said radio transmission takes place in the range around 2.4 GHz and in particular at 2.4 to 2.4835 GHz, or in the range around 5 GHz, especially from 5.150 to 5.875 GHz.

4. The system as set forth in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that said radio transmission takes place in the range of the 900 MHz ISM band.

5. The system as set forth in any one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that one or more of the following devices is/are equipped with radio interfaces for communicating:

a camera system (4), in particular an infrared camera system, for example for use with a medical navigation and tracking system;

an audio means, for example for use with a medical navigation and tracking system;

a video means, in particular a screen (7) and video-signal generating means, also head-mounted displays, for example for use with a medical navigation and tracking system;

a microscope means, for example for use with a medical navigation and tracking system;

an ultrasound detecting means (100) and/or a means (9) for processing detected ultrasound signals, for example for use with a medical navigation and tracking system;

a robot, in particular a medical robot (6), for example for use with a medical navigation and tracking system;

patient bearings, in particular patient beds (1), for example for use with a medical navigation and tracking system;

imaging devices, in particular medical imaging devices, preferably for detecting volume data sets, such as tomographs (8), for example for use, including intra-operatively, with a medical navigation and tracking system;

AGV devices (Automatic Guided Vehicles;

driverless transport systems);

apparatus and instruments for treatment, in particular medical and/or surgical instruments (2), for example for use with a medical navigation and tracking system;

endoscopes;

C-arc x-ray device and/or fluoroscopy devices.

6. The system as set forth in any one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that said devices transfer data concerning their identification and/or detected medical data and/or data concerning their own position or that of other objects.

7. The system as set forth in any one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that it comprises a central, computer-assisted receiving, sending and evaluating unit (110) which carries out recognition, regulation and control routines based on the exchanged data, and transmits evaluated data.

8. The system as set forth in any one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that it is integrated into a medical navigation and tracking system comprising the corresponding treatment means.

9. The system as set forth in any one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that said devices are driven by accumulators or batteries.

10. The system as set forth in any one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that said devices are accommodated in a treatment and operating room.

11. The system as set forth in any one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that said device are accommodated in a number of rooms, and a radio linking means is provided between said rooms.

12. The system as set forth in any one of claims 1 to 11, characterised in that one or more of the following devices is/are provided for transmitting video or image signals:

a means for compressing the video or image signal data;

a means for converting said video or image signal data into data signals of a small volume, for example composite signals;

a means for splitting up said video or image signal data and transmitting portions thereof in parallel, in particular using multi-channel RF transmission connections.
