Abstract

An organic electro-luminescence display element comprising: at least a positive electrode; an organic luminescent film; an electron injection layer and a negative electrode, wherein: each of the positive and negative electrodes is formed of a transparent conductive film; the electron injection layer is formed of a thin film having transparency and made of organic metal salt containing alkali metal or alkaline earth metal as the metal, halogenide of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal, or organic metal complex containing alkali metal or alkaline earth metal as the metal; and the organic metal complex is at least one selected from the group consisting of acetylacetonate complex, α-nitroso-β-naphthol complex, salicylaldoxime complex, cupferron complex, benzoinoxime complex, bipyridine complex, phenanthroline complex, crown complex, proline complex and benzoylacetone complex.

An organic electro-luminescence display element comprising at least a positive electrode, an organic luminescent film and a negative electrode, wherein the positive electrode is formed of an electrically conductive film having transparency, the negative electrode is formed of a metal film containing metal having a low work function, and the negative electrode is connected to a power supply lead portion made of a transparent and conductive film.

Claims

1. An organic electro-luminescence display element comprising:

at least a positive electrode;

an organic luminescent film;

an electron injection layer and a negative electrode, wherein;

each of said positive and negative electrodes is formed of a transparent conductive film;

said electron injection layer is formed of a thin film having transparency and made of

organic metal salt containing alkali metal or alkaline earth metal as the metal,

halogenide of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal, or

organic metal complex containing alkali metal or alkaline earth metal as the metal; and

said organic metal complex is at least one selected from the group consisting of acetylacetonate complex, α

-nitroso-β

-naphthol complex, salicylaldoxime complex, cupferron complex, benzoinoxime complex, bipyridine complex, phenanthroline complex, crown complex, proline complex and benzoylacetone complex.

2. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 1, wherein

said negative electrode is formed of a transparent metal thin film containing metal having a work function of 4 ev or less.

3. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 1, wherein

a thickness of a portion between said positive and negative electrodes is in a range from 20 nm to 200 nm.

4. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 1, wherein

a luminescent layer in said organic luminescent film is doped with fluorescent dye.

5. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 1, wherein

a portion of said element used for display and viewing has a light transmittance of 70% or more with respect to visible rays.

6. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 1, wherein

said positive and negative electrodes are arranged to perform simple matrix driving of the display element.

7. A finder screen display device comprising an organic electro-luminescence element, wherein:

said organic electro-luminescence element is disposed in a light path near an image formation position of an image viewed through a finder; and

said organic electro-luminescence element is the organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 1, and can display information superimposed on the image viewed through the finder.

8. An organic electro-luminescence display element comprising at least a positive electrode, an organic luminescent film and a negative electrode, wherein

said positive electrode is formed of an electrically conductive film having transparency, said negative electrode is formed of a metal film containing metal having a low work function, and said negative electrode is connected to a power supply lead portion made of a transparent and conductive film.

9. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

a portion, directly contributing to light emission, of said negative electrode is made of a metal film containing magnesium or lithium.

10. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

said positive electrode is made of indium tin oxide compound having transparency, said negative electrode is formed of an opaque metal film, and a portion around said negative electrode has a transparency.

11. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

said organic luminescent film includes a hole transport-related layer disposed on the positive electrode side and an organic luminescent layer disposed on the negative electrode side, said positive electrode is formed of a transparent and conductive metal oxide film, said negative electrode is formed of an opaque metal film, and said power supply lead portion connected to said negative electrode is formed of a transparent and conductive compound film.

12. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 11, wherein

said hole transport-related layer is one selected from a group consisting of a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, a combination of a hole injection layer and a hole transport layer, and a hole injection/transport layer.

13. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

said positive electrode and a power supply lead portion to be connected to said positive electrode are formed of a patterned ITO film on a transparent substrate, and said negative electrode is formed of an opaque metal film.

14. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

a thickness of a portion between said positive and negative electrodes is in a range from 20 nm to 200 nm.

15. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

a line forming said negative electrode has a width of 1 mm or less.

16. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

a luminescent layer in said organic luminescent film is doped with fluorescent dye.

17. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

said organic luminescent film includes an electron transport-related layer, a luminescent layer and a hole transport-related layer arranged in this order from said negative electrode side to said positive electrode side.

18. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 17, wherein

said electron transport-related layer is one selected from a group consisting of an electron injection layer, an electron transport layer, a combination of an electron injection layer and an electron transport layer, and an electron injection/transport layer, and

said hole transport-related layer is one selected from a group consisting of a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, a combination of a hole injection layer and a hole transport layer, and a hole injection/transport layer.

19. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence display element is sealed between two glass substrates.

20. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

an area occupied by a light emitting portion in said organic luminescent film is {fraction (1/10)} or less of a whole view region of the element.

21. The organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, wherein

said positive and negative electrodes are arranged to perform simple matrix driving of the display element.

22. A finder screen display device comprising an organic electro-luminescence element, wherein:

said organic electro-luminescence element is disposed in a light path near an image formation position of an image viewed through a finder; and

said organic electro-luminescence element is the organic electro-luminescence display element according to claim 8, and can display information superimposed on the image viewed through the finder.

24. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element can display information at the same portion in different luminescence colors.

25. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element can display information at different portions in different luminescence colors.

26. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element entirely has transparency.

27. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element includes at least a positive electrode, a hole transport layer, an luminescent layer and a negative electrode;

said positive electrode is formed of a thin film made of indium tin oxide compound; and

said negative electrode is formed of a thin metal film having transparency.

28. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element includes at least a positive electrode, a hole transport layer, a luminescent layer and a negative electrode, and each of said positive and negative electrodes is formed of a thin film made of metal compound and having transparency and electric conductivity.

29. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element includes at least a positive electrode, a hole transport layer, a luminescent layer, an electron injection layer and a negative electrode;

said electron injection layer is formed of a transparent thin metal film containing metal having a work function of 4.5 eV or less; and

each of said positive and negative electrodes is formed of an electric conductive thin film having transparency and made of metal oxide.

30. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element includes at least a positive electrode, a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, a luminescent layer, an electron injection layer and a negative electrode;

and

each of said positive and negative electrodes is formed of an electrically conductive thin film having transparency and made of metal oxide.

31. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element includes at least a positive electrode, a first electric charge transport layer, a luminescent layer, a second electric charge transport layer and a negative electrode;

each of said first and second electric charge transport layers is made of a hole transporting compound or an electron transporting compound; and

said luminescent layer is doped with two or more kinds of fluorescent dye.

32. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element includes at least a positive electrode, a first electric charge transport layer, a luminescent layer, a second electric charge transport layer and a negative electrode;

each of said first and second electric charge transport layers is made of a hole transporting compound or an electron transporting compound;

said luminescent layer is doped with two or more kinds of fluorescent dye; and

each of said positive and negative electrodes is formed of a transparent thin film made of electrically conductive compound.

33. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element includes at least a positive electrode, a first luminescent layer, a blocking layer for preventing movement of holes or electrons, a second luminescent layer and a negative electrode;

and

colors of light emitted from said first and second luminescent layers are different from each other.

34. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element includes at least a positive electrode, a first luminescent layer, a blocking layer for preventing movement of holes or electrons, a second luminescent layer and a negative electrode;

colors of light emitted from said first and second luminescent layers are different from each other; and

each of said positive electrode, said first luminescent layer, said blocking layer, said second luminescent layer and said negative electrode substantially has transparency.

35. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element has two or more layer structures layered together and each including a positive electrode, a luminescent layer and a negative electrode;

and

the positive electrode, the luminescent layer and the negative electrode located between the outermost positive electrode and the outermost negative electrode substantially have transparency.

36. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

a thickness of a portion between said positive and negative electrodes of said organic electro-luminescence element is in a range from 20 nm to 200 nm.

37. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, further comprising a liquid crystal display element as the information display element in addition to said organic electro-luminescence element.

38. The finder screen display device according to claim 37, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element is driven in a static manner, and said liquid crystal display element is driven in a single matrix manner.

40. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element can display shooting area information.

41. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element can display information of an focused area.

42. A finder comprising:

the finder screen display device according to claim 23.

43. An optical device comprising:

the finder according to claim 42.

23. A finder screen display device, comprising:

an organic electro-luminescence element disposed in a light path near an image formation position of an image viewed through a finder, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element is capable of displaying information in multiple colors, and

said organic electro-luminescence element is capable of displaying information superimposed on the image viewed through the finder.

39. The finder screen display device according to claim 23, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element can display multiple kinds of information in individually determined forms, respectively.

44. A finder screen display device, comprising:

an organic electro-luminescence element disposed in a light path near an image formation position of an image viewed through a finder, wherein

a luminescent layer of said element is doped with fluorescent dye;

said organic electro-luminescence element is capable of displaying information on different portions in different luminescence colors; and

said organic electro-luminescence element can display information superimposed on the image viewed through the finder.

46. The finder screen display device according to claim 45, wherein

said opaque portion of said organic electro-luminescence element is located near a screen frame in the finder screen.

45. A finder screen display device, comprising:

an organic electro-luminescence element disposed in a light path near an image formation position of an image viewed through a finder;

wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element is capable of displaying information on different portions in different luminescence colors;

said organic electro-luminescence element can display information superimposed on the image viewed through the finder; and

an information display portion of said element is divided into a plurality of portions each having a transparent portion and an opaque portion.

47. A finder screen display device comprising:

an organic electro-luminescence element disposed in a light path near an image formation position of an image viewed through a finder, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element can display information superimposed on the image viewed through the finder; and

a single luminescent portion of said organic electro-luminescence element can perform display in different luminescence colors depending on drive conditions.

48. A finder screen display device, comprising

an organic electro-luminescence element disposed in a light path near an image formation position of an image viewed through a finder, wherein

an information display portion of said element is divided into a plurality of portions;

said plurality of divided portions include a transparent portion for display in a predetermined luminescence color and an opaque portion for display in a luminescence color different from said luminescence color of said transparent portion;

said transparent portion is arranged on a position superimposed on the image viewed through the finder; and

said opaque portion is disposed in a position not related to the image viewed through the finder.

49. A finder screen display device, comprising

an organic electro-luminescence element disposed in a light path near an image formation position of an image viewed through a finder, wherein

said organic electro-luminescence element can display information superimposed on the image viewed through the finder;

a portion of said organic electro-luminescence element for displaying the information superimposed on the image viewed through the finder is divided into a plurality of portions; and

each of said divided portions can emit light in different luminescence color, and can be driven independently of each other.
