1. An anti-fraud fingerprint identification system that determines whether an object exhibits characteristics of a real human finger, comprising:

  • means for obtaining a fingerprint image from an individual during a registration process, the fingerprint image containing one or more registration pores;

    means for determining a registration pore count from the number of registration pores;

    means for obtaining a fingerprint image during a bid step, the fingerprint image containing one or more bid pores;

    means for determining a bid pore count from the number of bid pores; and

    means for comparing the bid pore count to the registration pore count to produce a pore count correlation factor to determine if the fingerprint image is a real human finger.
