Abstract

The coating process according to the invention consists in bringing at least one surface of the substrate made of organic glass into contact with an aqueous treatment solution comprising at least one surface-active agent prior to the deposition of the coating on the surface of the substrate.

Claims

1. Process for coating at least one surface of a substrate made of organic glass, characterized in that it comprises, prior to the deposition of the coating on the surface of the substrate, a treatment stage comprising bringing the surface of the substrate into contact with an aqueous treatment solution comprising at least one surface-active agent.

2. Process according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises, subsequent to the stage of treatment with the aqueous solution of surface-active agent, a stage of treatment of the surface with a basic solution.

3. Process according to claim 2, characterized in that the basic solution is a 5% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution.

Process according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that it comprises, subsequent to the stage of treatment with the solution comprising the surface-active agent and prior to the stage of treatment with the basic solution, a rinsing stage, in order to remove the excess solution comprising the surface-active agent.

5. Process according to claim 4, characterized in that the rinsing stage is a stage of rinsing with deionized water.

6. Process according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that it comprises, prior to the stage of treatment with the aqueous solution of surface-active agent, a stage of treatment with plasma.

7. Process according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the surface-active agent is chosen from anionic or nonionic surfactants.

8. Process according to claim 7, characterized in that the surface-active agent is chosen from sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium lauryl ether sulphate, triethanolamine lauryl sulphate, sodium dodecylbenzenesulphonate and PEG-9 octylphenyl ether.

9. Process according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the surface-active agent is sodium lauryl ether sulphate.

10. Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the surface-active agent represents 0.01 to 0.1% by weight with respect to the total weight of the aqueous treatment solution.

11. Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the aqueous treatment solution comprises a hydrophilic polymer, a hydrophilic colloidal inorganic filler or a mixture of these.

12. Process according to claim 11, characterized in that the hydrophilic polymer is chosen from poly(vinyl alcohol)s, poly(ethylene glycol)s, polyacrylamides, polyvinylpyrrolidones and cellulose derivatives.

13. Process according to claim 12, characterized in that the cellulose derivatives are chosen from hydroxy alkyl celluloses, alkyl hydroxy alkyl celluloses and carboxy alkyl celluloses.

14. Process according to claim 13, characterized in that the cellulose derivative is a hydroxy ethyl cellulose, a hydroxy propyl cellulose, a methyl hydroxy propyl cellulose or a carboxy methyl cellulose.

15. Process according to any one of claims 11 to 14, characterized in that the hydrophilic colloidal inorganic filler is chosen from pyrogenic silicas, pyrogenic aluminas and their mixtures.

16. Process according to claim 11, characterized in that the aqueous treatment solution comprises an anionic surfactant and, preferably, a hydrophilic polymer and/or a nonionic colloidal inorganic filler.

17. Process according to any one of claims 11 to 16, characterized in that the hydrophilic polymer and/or the colloidal inorganic filler represent 0.001 to 0.05%, preferably 0.005 to 0.02%, by weight with respect to the total weight of the aqueous treatment solution.

18. Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the aqueous treatment solution has an acidic pH.

19. Process according to claim 18, characterized in that the pH of the aqueous treatment solution varies from 2 to 5.

20. Process according to claim 18 or 19, characterized in that the acidic pH of the aqueous treatment solution is adjusted by addition of lactic acid.

21. Process according to claim 20, characterized in that the amount of lactic acid present in the aqueous treatment solution is from 0 to 0.01% by weight with respect to the total weight of the solution.

22. Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the aqueous treatment solution comprises a hydroxylamine salt and/or a hydrazine salt.

23. Process according to claim 22, characterized in that the hydroxylamine salt and/or the hydrazine salt is a hydrochloride.

24. Process according to claim 22 or 23, characterized in that the hydroxylamine salt and/or the hydrazine salt represent 0.02 to 0.1% by weight with respect to the total weight of the aqueous treatment solution.

25. Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the aqueous treatment solution comprising the surface-active agent comprises a dispersed pigment.

26. Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the substrate is chosen from polythiourethanes, (meth)allyl polymers, (meth)acrylic polymers and thermoplastic polycarbonates.

27. Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the coating is a hard abrasion-resistant or impact-resistant varnish.

28. Process according to claim 27, characterized in that the coating is based on epoxysilane hydrolysate.

29. Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the substrate is an ophthalmic lens, preferably a spectacle lens.

30. Aqueous treatment solution, characterized in that it comprises a surface-active agent, a hydrophilic polymer and/or a hydrophilic colloidal inorganic filler, a hydrazine salt and/or a hydroxylamine salt, and an acid.

31. Aqueous solution according to claim 30, characterized in that it comprises, with respect to the total weight of the solution:

0.01 to 0.1% of at least one surface-active agent;

0.001 to 0.05% of the hydrophilic polymer and/or of the hydrophilic colloidal inorganic filler;

0.02 to 0.1% of a hydrazine salt and/or a hydroxylamine salt; and

up to 0.01% of acid.

32. Aqueous treatment solution according to claim 30 or 31, characterized in that the acid is lactic acid.

33. Aqueous treatment solution according to any one of claims 30 to 32, characterized in that the surface-active agent is chosen from anionic or nonionic surface-active agents.

34. Aqueous treatment solution according to claim 33, characterized in that the surface-active agent is chosen from sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium lauryl ether sulphate, triethanolamine lauryl sulphate, sodium dodecylbenzenesulphonate and PEG-9 octylphenyl ether.

35. Aqueous treatment solution according to any one of claims 30 to 34, characterized in that the hydrophilic polymer is chosen from poly(vinyl alcohol)s, poly(ethylene glycol)s, polyacrylamides, polyvinylpyrrolidones and cellulose derivatives.

36. Aqueous solution according to any one of claims 30 to 35, characterized in that the hydrophilic colloidal inorganic filler is chosen from pyrogenic silicas, pyrogenic aluminas and their mixtures.

37. Aqueous treatment solution according to any one of claims 30 to 36, characterized in that the hydroxylamine salt and/or the hydrazine salt is a hydrochloride.

38. Aqueous treatment solution according to any one of claims 30 to 37, characterized in that it includes a dispersed pigment.
