1. A medical device for augmenting contralateral circulation in a patient having carotid stenosis, comprising:

  • a first elongate tubular member having a lumen communicating with a port at a distal end, a manometer carried at the distal end, and an expandable occlusive member carried proximal to the distal port and adapted to expand and engage the lumen of a first carotid artery having a stenosis;

    a second elongate tubular member having a lumen communicating with a port at a distal end, a manometer carried at the distal end, and an expandable occlusive member carried proximal to the distal port and adapted to expand and engage the lumen of a second carotid artery; and

    a pump connected to the proximal end of the first tubular member and the proximal end of the second tubular member for aspirating blood through the first tubular member and perfusing the blood through the second tubular member.
