Abstract

It is the subject of this invention to provide a method and a device that can process communications between all sorts of multi-media terminals.

The method or device of this invention is applied or equipped between different multi-media terminals, each of which exists in each different address space. It watches packets under each communication protocol. It automatically compiles and deletes address information for address translation. And it stands proxy for calling and connecting between each multi-media terminal and the other multi-media terminal according to this address information.

Claims

1. A network connecting method that processes communications between the first multi-media terminal in the first address space and the second multi-media terminal in the second address space being distinguished from said first address space:

wherein the network connecting method comprises the step of translating, as each destination, the address of the proxy device in the first address space to the address of the second multi-media terminal in the second address space,

and translating, as each source, the address of the first multi-media terminal in the first address space to the address of the proxy device in the second address space, when packets are sent;

and the step of translating, as each destination, the address of the proxy device in the second address space to the address of the first multi-media terminal in the first address space,

and translating, as each source, the address of the second multi-media terminal in the second address space to the address of the proxy device in the first address space, when packets are received.

2. The network connecting method according to claim 1,

whereto added the step of corresponding the address of the first multi-media terminal in the first address space with the address of the proxy device in the second address space,

and also corresponding the address of the second multi-media terminal in the second address space with the address of the proxy device in the first address space;

before the address translation.

3. The network connecting method according to claim 2,

whereto added the step of separating the address of the first multi-media terminal in the first address space from the address of the proxy device in the second address space, and also separating the address of the second multi-media terminal in the second address space from the address of the proxy device in the first address space;

after the address translation.

4. The network connecting method according to claim 1,

wherein the first multi-media terminal is H323 multi-media terminal controlled by a gate keeper in the first address space and the second multi-media terminal is H323 multi-media terminal controlled by another gate keeper in the second address space.

5. The network connecting method according to claim 4,

wherein the gate keeper in the first address space inquires the other gate keeper in the second address space, when it receives the calling and connecting request for the H323 multi-media terminal not registered in itself, by the process of

the step of translating, as a destination, the address of the proxy device in the first address space to the address of the other gate keeper in the second address space,

and translating, as a source, the address of the gate keeper in the first address space to the address of the proxy device in the second address space,

when a request is sent;

and the step of translating, as a destination, the address of the proxy device in the second address space to the address of the gate keeper in the first address space,

and translating, as a source, the address of the gate keeper in the second address space to the address of the proxy device in the first address space,

when a reply is received.

6. The network connecting method according to claim 1, wherein the proxy device processes the priority connection according to the characteristics of the packets.

7. The network connecting method according to claim 2, wherein the proxy device processes the confirmation of the each address corresponding in according to the characteristics of the packets.

8. The network connecting method according to claim 6, wherein the proxy device processes the confirmation of the each address corresponding in according to the characteristics of the packets.

9. A network connecting proxy device that is equipped for communications between the first multi-media terminal in the first address space and the second multi-media terminal in the second address space being distinguished from said first address space:

wherein the network connecting proxy device comprises an address translator that translates, as each destination, the address of the proxy device in the first address space to the address of the second multi-media terminal in the second address space,

and, as each source, the address of the first multi-media terminal in the first address space to the address of the proxy device in the second address space, when packets are sent,

and translates, as each destination, the address of the proxy device in the second address space to the address of the first multi-media terminal in the first address space,

and, as each source, the address of the second multi-media terminal in the second address space to the address of the proxy device in the first address space when packets are received.

The network connecting proxy device according to claim 9 whereto added an automatic table compiler to compile an address corresponding table that corresponds the address of the first multi-media terminal in the first address space with the address of the proxy device in the second address space,

and also corresponds the address of the second multi-media terminal in the second address space with the address of the proxy device in the first address space;

for said address translator to translate the addresses in accordance with said address corresponding table, when packets are sent or received.

11. The network connecting proxy device according to claim 10 wherein said automatic table compiler compiles plural address correspondings in said address corresponding table, each of which is for the each communication.

12. The network connecting proxy device according to claim 10 wherein said automatic table compiler deletes the each address corresponding for the each communication, when the communication ends.

13. The network connecting proxy device according to claim 9,

wherein the first multi-media terminal is H323 multi-media terminal controlled by a gate keeper in the first address space and the second multi-media terminal is H323 multi-media terminal controlled by another gate keeper in the second address space.

14. The network connecting proxy device according to claim 9,

wherein the address translator translates, as a destination, the address of the proxy device in the first address space to the address of the gate keeper in the second address space,

and translates, as a source, the address of the gate keeper in the first address space to the address of the proxy device in the second address space,

when a request is sent;

and translates, as a destination, the address of the proxy device in the second address space to the address of the gate keeper in the first address space,

and translates, as a source, the address of the gate keeper in the second address space to the address of the proxy device in the first address space,

when a reply is received;

when the gate keeper in the first address space receives the calling and connecting request for the H323 multi-media terminal not registered in itself and inquires the other gate keeper in the second address space.

15. The network connecting proxy device according to of claim 9, whereto added a priority controller which processes the priority connection according to the characteristics of the packets.

16. The network connecting proxy device according to claim 9, whereto added a table confirmer which processes the confirmation of the each address corresponding in according to the characteristics of the packets.

17. The network connecting proxy device according to claim 15, whereto added a table confirmer which processes the confirmation of the each address corresponding in according to the characteristics of the packets.

18. The network connecting proxy device according to claim 9, wherein the network connecting proxy device comprises a stationed thread which is always operating in the operation of the system, and watches packets and compiles said address corresponding table from the received packets;

and each calling process thread which operates calling procession at each time calling connected.

19. The network connecting proxy device according to claim 15, wherein the network connecting proxy device comprises a stationed thread which is always operating in the operation of the system, and watches packets and compiles said address corresponding table from the received packets;

and each calling process thread which operates calling procession at each time calling connected.

20. The network connecting proxy device according to claim 16, wherein the network connecting proxy device comprises a stationed thread which is always operating in the operation of the system, and watches packets and compiles said address corresponding table from the received packets;

and each calling process thread which operates calling procession at each time calling connected.
