Abstract

The invention provides a computer system which is related with a Web server for providing a Web site over the Internet. The computer system is configured to comprise customer type determining means for determining a customer type of a user based on a transition of the user'"'"'s content requests when the user is accessing the Web site and Web page providing means for providing an appropriate Web page for the user based on the determined customer type. According to the invention, it is possible to determine a customer type of a user while the user is accessing a Web site and present a Web page appropriate to that user based on the determined customer type of the user.

Claims

1. A computer system which is related with a Web server for providing a Web site over the Internet, wherein the Web server comprises one or processors and one or more memories, and

the computer system is configured to determine a customer type of a user based on a transition of the user'"'"'s content requests when the user is accessing the Web site and to provide an appropriate Web page for the user based on the determined customer type.

2. The computer system according to claim 1, wherein the provided Web page contains at least two frames on the browser screen;

wherein the requested content is displayed in a first frame of the browser screen of the user; and

wherein a link to the appropriate Web page for the user is displayed in a second frame of the browser screen of the user.

3. The computer system according to claim 1, wherein the provided Web page is dynamically assigned to a link in the Web page which the user is accessing.

The computer system according to claim 1, wherein multiple versions are prepared for one content, each of the multiple versions containing respective information which is slightly different for each customer type, and when the content is selected, a version of the content corresponding to the determined customer type is provided as the appropriate Web page.

5. A Web server for providing a Web site over the Internet, wherein the Web server comprises one or processors and one or more memories, and

the Web server is configured to determine a customer type of a user based on a transition of the user'"'"'s content requests when the user is accessing the Web site and to provide an appropriate Web page for the user based on the determined customer type.

6. The Web server according to claim 5, wherein the provided Web page contains at least two frames on the browser screen;

wherein the requested content is displayed in a first frame of the browser screen of the user; and

wherein a link to the appropriate Web page for the user is displayed in a second frame of the browser screen of the user.

7. The Web server according to claim 5, wherein the provided Web page is dynamically assigned to a link in the Web page which the user is accessing.

The Web server according to claim 5, wherein multiple versions are prepared for one content, each of the multiple versions containing respective information which is slightly different for each customer type, and when the content is selected, a version of the content corresponding to the determined customer type is provided as the appropriate Web page.

9. A method for providing a user accessing a Web site with an appropriate Web page, performed by a Web server providing the web site and comprising one or processors and one or more memories, the method comprising the following:

determining a customer type of a user based on a transition of the user'"'"'s content requests when the user is accessing the Web site; and

providing an appropriate Web page for the user based on the determined customer type.

10. The method according to claim 9, wherein the provided Web page contains at least two frames on the browser screen;

wherein the requested content is displayed in a first frame of the browser screen of the user; and

wherein a link to the appropriate Web page for the user is displayed in a second frame of the browser screen of the user.

11. The method according to claim 9, wherein the provided Web page is dynamically assigned to a link in the Web page which the user is accessing.

12. The method according to claim 9, wherein multiple versions are prepared for one content, each of the multiple versions containing respective information which is slightly different for each customer type, and when the content is selected, a version of the content corresponding to the determined customer type is provided as the appropriate Web page.

14. The program according to claim 13, wherein the provided Web page contains at least two frames on the browser screen;

wherein the requested content is displayed in a first frame of the browser screen of the user; and

wherein a link to the appropriate Web page for the user is displayed in a second frame of the browser screen of the user.

15. The program according to claim 13, wherein the provided Web page is dynamically assigned to a link in the Web page which the user is accessing.

The program according to claim 13, wherein multiple versions are prepared for one content, each of the multiple versions containing respective information which is slightly different for each customer type, and when the content is selected, a version of the content corresponding to the determined customer type is provided as the appropriate Web page.

13. A program for providing a user accessing a Web site with an appropriate Web page, performed by a Web server providing the web site and comprising one or processors and one or more memories, the program having the Web server perform the following:

determining a customer type of a user based on a transition of the user'"'"'s content requests when the user is accessing the Web site; and

providing an appropriate Web page for the user based on the determined customer type.
