In a radio communication system having a network portion and a mobile station moveable throughout a geographical area, positioning of the mobile station identifiable at a first level of precision, an improvement of an assembly for selectably permitting indicia associated with the positioning of the mobile station at a selected level of precision to be accessed by at least a first correspondent node, said assembly comprising:
- a profile storage element coupled to the network portion of the radio communication system, said profile storage element for storing a profile database in which indicia identifying the at least the first correspondent node together with the selected level of precision by which the positioning of the mobile station is permitted to be accessed by the at least the first correspondent node.

Abstract
An assembly, and an associated method, for controlling the granularity at which a content provider is able to access positional indicia associated with the positioning of a mobile station. A profile database is created which is selectably accessible by a content provider. Positional indicia associated with the positioning of the mobile station is maintained at the profile database. The content provider requests access to the positional indicia stored at the profile database. And, positional indicia associated with the mobile station is selectably permitted to be provided to the content provider at a granularity level at which the content provider is permitted to access the positional indicia.

a user actuator actuable to select indicia to be maintained at the profile database, the indicia including identification of at least a first correspondent node together with a selected level of precision by which the positioning of the mobile station is permitted to be accessed by the at least the first correspondent node; and
a profile creation signal generator coupled to said user actuator, said profile creation signal generator for generating a profile creation signal for communication to the network infrastructure, the profile creation signal of values representative of the indicia selected by actuation of said user actuator.

Storing, at a profile database, indicia identifying the at least the first correspondent node together with the selected level of precision by which the positioning of the mobile station is permitted to be accessed by the at least the first correspondent node;
maintaining positional indicia identifying the positioning of the mobile station at the first level of precision; and
selectably permitting access to the positional indicia by the at least the first correspondent node, access permitted at the selected level of precision identified in the profile database to be associated with the at least the first correspondent node.
