Abstract

Program configuration is carried out by using the screen of a display section 17 and an input operating section 18 of a video editing device 10, and data of this program configuration is recorded in a RAM 19. In accordance with the data of the program configuration, an editing control section 11 reads out a video material corresponding to material identification information of this program configuration from a digital VTR for reproduction 1 and records the video material onto a HDD 12. In accordance with the data of the program configuration, the editing control section 11 reproduces the video material of the corresponding material identification information from the HDD 12 and supplies the video material to a digital VTR for recording 5. Thus, the video editing device which automatically edits a program by inputting the video material having the material identification information after setting the program configuration is provided.

Claims

1. An editing device comprising:

a non-linearly accessible recording medium;

recording means for recording video and/or audio signals onto the recording medium;

display means for displaying a program configuration table indicating, every predetermined unit, images and/or sounds necessary for each program on the basis of configuration of the program;

operating means for operating the program configuration table displayed by the display means; and

control means for performing control to register an identification code appended every predetermined unit of the program configuration table onto the program configuration table by using the operating means, and to cause the recording means to record only a predetermined unit of image and/or sound selected by operation of the operating means from predetermined units of images and/or sounds indicated by the registered identification codes.

The editing device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the control means controls the display means and the recording means so as to register an identification code onto the program configuration table, record a leading frame of image of the predetermined unit for every predetermined unit with the registered identification code appended thereto, record onto the recording medium only a predetermined unit of images selected by operation of the operating means from predetermined units of images indicated by the identification codes displayed and registered on the program configuration table, and display the recorded images on the display means.

The editing device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the control means performs control so that when the recording means records onto the recording medium only the predetermined unit of images selected by operation of the operating means, the images to be recorded are displayed in a recording order on the frame basis for every predetermined time on the program configuration table displayed on the display means.

The editing device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the control means controls the recording means and the display means so that when the recording means records onto the recording medium only the predetermined unit of video and/or audio signals selected by operation of the operating means, if the video and/or audio signals to be recorded exceed a predetermined length, the exceeding audio and/or video signals are displayed on the display means at the time of editing the video and/or audio signals recorded on the recording medium using the program configuration table.

5. The editing device as claimed in claim 1, further comprising reproduction output means for reproducing and outputting the video and/or audio signals recorded on the recording medium,

the control means controlling the reproduction output means so that the video and/or audio signals recorded on the recording medium are outputted in the order of the program configuration table displayed on the display means.

The editing device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the recording means records onto the recording medium only the predetermined unit of images and/or sounds selected by operation of the operating means and wherein the recorded images and/or sounds are displayed on the program configuration table on the display means on the predetermined unit basis indicated by the program configuration table in accordance with the time series in the order of configuration of the program.

7. The editing device as claimed in claim 1, further comprising special effect processing means to which the video and/or audio signals recorded on the recording medium are inputted and which makes a special effect on the video and/or audio signals,

wherein operation of a video and/or audio special effect is carried out by the operating means on the predetermined unit of images selected and recorded by operation of the operating means and displayed on the program configuration table and wherein operation information of the operation is inputted to the control means, the control means performing control so that video and/or audio signals as a target of the special effect corresponding to the operation information are inputted to the special effect processing means and so that the video and/or audio signals on which the special effect is made are recorded again onto the recording medium.

The editing device as claimed in claim 7, wherein with respect to the predetermined unit of images and/or sounds displayed on the program configuration table, a special effect selection table including a display indicating types of video special effects is displayed on the display means and wherein the operation information is inputted to the control means by operating the display by operating means, the control means performing control so that the video and/or audio signals as the target of the special effect are inputted to the special effect processing means on the basis of the inputted operation information and so that the video and/or audio signals on which the special effect is made are recorded again onto the recording medium.

The editing device as claimed in claim 3, wherein with respect to the display means on which the images recorded on the recording medium are displayed on the frame basis for every predetermined time in the recording order, the control means controls the display means to reproduce and display in the recording order the images displayed on the frame basis by operation of the operating means and to display on the program configuration table a start frame to an end frame of the images reproduced and displayed by operation of the operating means when the start frame and the end frame are determined.

The editing device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the control means controls the display means so that when the order of the predetermined units on the program configuration table displayed on the display means is altered by operation of the operating means, the configuration of the program itself is altered while the recorded images and/or sounds displayed on the program configuration table are altered to the altered order of the predetermined units on the program configuration table.

11. An editing method including:

a first step of displaying, every predetermined unit, images and/or sounds necessary for each program on the basis of configuration of the program, and displaying a program configuration table with an identification code appended thereto every predetermined unit;

a second step of selecting the images and/or sounds necessary for each program, every predetermined unit; and

a third step of recording, onto a recording medium, only video and/or audio signals corresponding to the predetermined unit of images and/or sounds selected at the second step, and displaying the images and/or sounds recorded every predetermined unit which is necessary for each program of the program configuration table.

12. The editing method as claimed in claim 11, wherein a leading frame of the predetermined unit is displayed, every predetermined unit with an identification code appended thereto, on the program configuration table displayed at the first step,

the second step selecting images necessary for each program from preceding and succeeding frames displayed at the first step.

13. The editing method as claimed in claim 11, the images displayed at the third step are displayed on the frame basis in a recording order for every predetermined time.

14. The editing method as claimed in claim 11, wherein when the video and/or audio signals recorded at the third step are recorded with a length exceeding a predetermined length, the video and/or audio signals are controlled so as not to be recorded onto the recording medium and so as to be displayed on the display means at the time of editing the images and/or sounds.

15. The editing method as claimed in claim 11, further comprising a reproduction output step of outputting the images and/or sounds recorded on the recording medium, in the order of display on the program configuration table.

16. The editing method as claimed in claim 11, wherein the images and/or sounds displayed on the program configuration table at the third step are displayed in accordance with a time series in the order of configuration of the program.

17. The editing method as claimed in claim 11, further comprising:

an operating step of performing selective operation to make a special effect on the images and/or sounds recorded on the recording medium and displayed on the program configuration table at the third step;

a special effect processing step of performing special effect processing on the video and/or audio signals recorded on the recording medium on the basis of operation information operated at the operating step; and

a re-recording step of recording the video and/or audio signals processed at the special effect processing step onto the recording medium again.

The editing method as claimed in claim 17, wherein at the operating step, a special effect selection table including display expressing types of special effects is displayed with respect to the images and/or sounds on which a special effect is to be made, and a special effect to be made is selected from the display of the special effect selection table with respect to the images and/or sounds on which a special effect is to be made.

19. The editing method as claimed in claim 13, further comprising:

a selection and determination step of selecting and determining a start frame and an end frame of images with respect to the images displayed on the frame basis for the predetermined time in the recording order at the third step; and

a display step of displaying the start frame and the end frame determined at the selection and determination step and images from the start frame to the end frame on the program configuration table.

20. The editing method as claimed in claim 11, wherein when the order of the predetermined unit displayed on the program configuration table displayed at the third step and/or the first step is altered, the configuration of the program is altered and the images and/or sounds displayed on the program configuration table are displayed in an altered order on the program configuration table.

21. An editing system comprising an editing device and an imaging device,

the editing device comprising:

a non-linearly accessible recording medium;

editing and recording means for recording video and/or audio signals onto the recording medium;

display means for displaying a program configuration table indicating, every predetermined unit, images and/or sounds necessary for each program on the basis of configuration of the program;

operating means for operating the program configuration table displayed by the display means; and

control means for registering an identification code appended every predetermined unit of the program configuration table onto the program configuration table by using the operating means, and causing the display means to display the identification code,

the imaging device comprising;

identification code input means for inputting the identification code appended every predetermined unit of the program configuration table displayed by the display means;

imaging and recording means for imaging the predetermined unit of images and/or sounds corresponding to the inputted identification code, and recording the imaged video and/or audio signals together with the identification code onto the recording medium; and

output means for outputting the identification code and the video and/or audio signals recorded on the recording medium,

the control means performing control to cause the output means of the imaging device to output only the predetermined unit of video and/or audio signals selected by operation of the operating means from the predetermined units of images and/or sounds indicated by the registered identification codes, and to cause the editing and recording means to record the outputted video and/or audio signals onto the recording medium.

22. The editing system as claimed in claim 21, wherein the recording medium of the imaging device is a tape cassette, the tape cassette having memory means, and

wherein the identification code recorded by the imaging and recording means is recorded on the memory means, and the video and/or audio signals are recorded onto a tape of the tape cassette.

The editing system as claimed in claim 21, wherein the imaging and recording means has storage means for storing a leading frame when recording the video and/or audio signals onto the recording medium, and outputs and records the leading frame stored in the storage means onto the recording medium when imaging of the images and/or sounds onto the recording medium is completed,

the output means reproducing and outputting the leading frame from the recording medium together with the video and/or audio signals recorded on the recording medium,

the control means controlling the display means to display the leading frame of the predetermined unit on the program configuration table to correspond to the identification code, every predetermined unit to which the identification code registered on the program configuration table is appended, the control means performing control to record only the images and/or sounds selected by operation of the operating means onto the recording medium and to display the images and/or sounds selected by operation of the operating means on the display means.

The editing system as claimed in claim 21, wherein the control means performs control so that when only the predetermined unit of images and/or sounds selected by operation of the operating means are to be recorded onto the recording medium, the images and/or sounds to be recorded are displayed in a recording order every predetermined time on the program configuration table displayed on the display means.

The editing system as claimed in claim 21, wherein the control means controls the output means of the imaging device so that when only the predetermined unit of images and/or sounds selected by operation of the operating means are to be recorded onto the recording medium by the recording means, if the images and/or sounds to be recorded exceed a predetermined length, the exceeding images and/or sounds are outputted from the output means at the time of editing the images and/or sounds recording on the recording medium by using the program configuration table.

26. The editing system as claimed in claim 21, wherein the editing device has reproduction output means for reproducing and outputting the video and/or audio signals recorded on the recording medium,

the control means controlling the reproduction output mens to output the images and/or sounds recorded on the recording medium in the order of the program configuration displayed on the display means.

27. The editing system as claimed in claim 21, further comprising special effect processing means to which the images and/or sounds recorded on the recording medium are inputted and which is adapted for making a special effect on the images and sounds,

wherein operation of a video and/or audio special effect is performed by the operating means with respect to the predetermined unit of images and/or sounds selected and recorded by operation of the operating means and displayed on the program configuration table and wherein operation information of the operation is inputted to the control means, the control means performing control to input to the special effect processing means the video and/or audio signals as a target of the special effect corresponding to the operation information and to record again onto the recording medium the video and/or audio signals on which the special effect is made.

The editing system as claimed in claim 24, wherein with respect to the display means on which the images and/or sounds recorded on the recording medium are displayed on the frame basis in the recording order every predetermined unit time, the control means controls the display means to reproduce and display in the recording order the images displayed on the frame basis by operation of the operating means, and to display on the program configuration table a start frame to an end frame of the images and/or sounds reproduced and displayed by operation of the operating means when the start frame and the end frame are determined.

The editing system as claimed in claim 21, wherein the control means controls the display means so that when the order of the predetermined unit on the program configuration table displayed on the display means is altered by operation of the operating means, the configuration of the program is altered and the images and/or sounds displayed on the program configuration table are altered to the order of the predetermined unit on the program configuration table having the altered order.

30. An editing method comprising:

a first step of displaying, every predetermined unit, images and/or sounds necessary for each program on the basis of configuration of the program, and displaying a program configuration table with an identification code appended thereto every predetermined unit;

a second step of imaging and recording, onto a first recording medium, the images and/or sounds necessary for each program on the basis of the identification code displayed at the first step;

a third step of selecting the images and/or sounds necessary for each program, every predetermined unit; and

a fourth step of recording, onto a second recording medium, only video and/or audio signals corresponding to the predetermined unit of images and/or sounds selected at the third step from the images and/or sounds recorded at the second step, and displaying the images and/or sounds recorded every predetermined unit onto the second recording medium which is necessary for each program of the program configuration table.

31. The editing method as claimed in claim 30, wherein a leading frame of the predetermined unit is displayed, every predetermined unit with an identification code appended thereto, on the program configuration table displayed at the first step,

the third step selecting images and/or sounds necessary for each program from preceding and succeeding frames displayed at the first step.

32. The editing method as claimed in claim 30, wherein the images displayed at the fourth step are displayed on the frame basis in the recording order every predetermined time.

33. The editing method as claimed in claim 30, further comprising:

an operating step of performing selective operation to make a special effect on the images and/or sounds displayed on the program configuration table at the fourth step;

a special effect processing step of performing special effect processing on the video and/or audio signals recorded on the recording medium on the basis of operation information operated at the operating step; and

a re-recording step of recording the video and/or audio signals processed at the special effect processing step onto the second recording medium again.

34. The editing method as claimed in claim 30, further comprising:

a selection and determination step of selecting and determining a start frame and an end frame of images with respect to the images displayed on the frame basis for the predetermined time in the recording order at the fourth step; and

a display step of displaying the start frame and the end frame determined at the selection and determination step and images from the start frame to the end frame on the program configuration table.
