Abstract

A call service method includes the steps of determining if the electronic phone book database is being used upon occurrence of a call event, searching the electronic phone book database for individual information using a phone number associated with the call event if the electronic phone book database is not being used, displaying a searched individual information and the number associated with the call event and proceeding to the call, displaying the phone number associated with the call event if the electronic phone book database is being used, and proceeding to the call.

Claims

1. A call service method for a cellular phone with an electronic phone book database, comprising the steps of:

determining whether the electronic phone book database is being used upon occurrence of a call event;

processing the call event using a phone number associated with said call event without accessing the electronic phone book database when it is determined that the electronic phone book database is being used.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the processing step comprises displaying the phone number associated with the call event.

3. The method according to the claim 1, further comprising:

searching the electronic phone book database for an individual'"'"'s information using the phone number associated with the call event when it is determined that the electronic phone book database is not being used; and

processing said call event using the searched individual'"'"'s information.

4. The method according to the claim 3, further comprising:

displaying the searched individual'"'"'s information and the number associated with the call event; and

advancing to a call processing.

5. The method according to the claim 1, further comprising determining whether to add, delete or edit a phone number item in the electronic phone book database in a call processing program of the cellular phone.

6. A call service method for a personal digital assistant phone including a touch pad screen, comprising the steps of:

displaying a data synchronization picture upon detecting a connection of the personal digital assistant phone to a host computer, to thereby perform a data synchronization with the host computer;

displaying a keypad screen on the touch pad screen during the data synchronization screen when a call service is activated by a user during the data synchronization; and

processing the call service through the keypad screen

7. The method according to claim 6, wherein the data synchronization screen comprises a call indication icon, allowing a user to activate the call service.

8. The method according to the claim 6, wherein said keypad screen is displayed as a pop-up window.
