Abstract

A functional module type medical apparatus for use in medical treatment and/or diagnosis and a functional module with individual function of medical treatment and/or diagnosis are disclosed. The functional module type medical apparatus comprises a common functional body with a module connection part, having at least one of a display section for displaying necessary information relating to medical treatment and/or diagnosis, an operation section for medical treatment and/or diagnosis, and a power source section for supplying driving power to the medical apparatus, in which the module connection part is constructed such that the corresponding connection part of a functional module having medical treatment and/or diagnosis is replaceably connected thereto, whereby the common functional body cooperatively functions in accordance with its individual function of the functional module when the functional module is connected thereto.

Claims

1. A functional module type medical apparatus for use in medical treatment and/or diagnosis, comprising:

a common functional body having at least one of a display section for displaying necessary information relating to medical treatment and/or diagnosis, an operation section for medical treatment and/or diagnosis, and a power source section for supplying driving power to said medical apparatus; and

a module connection part for replaceably connecting a functional module having individual function of medical treatment and/or diagnosis function,

wherein said common functional body cooperatively functions in accordance with the function of said individual medical functional module when said functional module is connected thereto.

3. The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 1 or 2, wherein said module connection part of said common functional body is constructed such that said functional module is electrically or mechanically connected thereto in a replaceable manner.

The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 1 or 2, wherein said both module connection parts of said medical apparatus and said functional module are mechanically and functionally integrated as one unit structure when each being connected to each other, so that both cooperatively function.

5. The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claims 1 or 2, wherein said module connection part of said functional module is replaceably connected to the corresponding module connection part of said medical apparatus.

6. The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claims 1 or 2, further comprising a module recognition means for discriminating said functional module.

The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 6, wherein a module code specifying said functional module is stored in said functional module, and wherein said module recognition means discriminates its function kind of said functional module when receiving and decoding said module code from said functional module through the mutual communication with said medical functional module.

The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 6, wherein an ID element memorizing therein ID code specifying said functional module is provided in said functional module, and wherein said module recognition means discriminates said functional module when receiving and decoding said ID code from said ID element through the mutual communication with said functional module.

The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 6, wherein said functional module has therein an intrinsic impedance corresponding to its function kind of said functional module, and wherein said module recognition means discriminates said functional module by detecting and measuring said intrinsic impedance when applying power to said functional module.

The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 6, wherein said functional module has an individual connector different in its shape corresponding to its function kind of medical treatment and/or diagnosis, and wherein said module recognition means recognizes its function kind of said functional module by discriminating its shape of said functional module.

The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 6, wherein communication information relating to medical treatment and/or diagnosis is transmitted between said functional module type medical apparatus and said functional module after when said recognition means of said medical apparatus discriminates its function kind of said functional module.

The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 11, wherein said communication information includes at least such information to be displayed, relating to medical treatment and/or diagnosis, function setting information for said operation section, medical treatment and/or diagnosis data, and such machinery or control information about an instrument to be connected thereto.

13. The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 12, wherein said common functional body is set to such function mode for conducting medical treatment and/or diagnosis corresponding to said functional module to be connected thereto.

14. The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 11, wherein a control software for conducting medical treatment and/or diagnosis is in advance stored in said functional module.

15. The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 11, wherein a common control software for conducting medical treatment and/or diagnosis is in advance stored in said medical apparatus.

16. The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claim 15, wherein said common control software is in advance forwarded to and stored in said medical apparatus by way of communication.

17. The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claims 1 or 2, wherein said module connection part of said medical apparatus is constructed such that plural numbers of said functional module are connected thereto.

The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claims 1 or 2, wherein said apparatus has individual function of medical treatment and/or diagnosis and has a multi-joint type connection portion to which various multi-joint type instruments corresponding to the function of said functional module are replaceably connected.

19. The functional module type medical apparatus as set forth in claims 1 or 2, wherein said common functional body comprises a battery working as a driving power source for itself.

29. A functional module type medical apparatus, comprising any one of said common functional bodies as set forth in claims 1 or 2 and any one of said functional modules as set forth in claim 20.

2. A functional module type medical apparatus for use in medical treatment and/or diagnosis comprising:

a common functional body with a module connection part, said common functional body having at least one of a display section for displaying necessary information relating to medical treatment and/or diagnosis, an operation section for medical treatment and/or diagnosis, and a power source section for supplying driving power to said medical apparatus, and wherein

said module connection part is constructed such that the corresponding connection part of a functional module having individual function of medical treatment and/or diagnosis is replaceably connected thereto, whereby said common functional body cooperatively functions in accordance with its practicable function of said functional module when said functional module is connected thereto.

20. A medical functional module replaceably connected to a functional module type medical apparatus having a common functional body for medical treatment and/or diagnosis, wherein said functional module has individual function of medical treatment and/or diagnosis and wherein

said functional module comprises:

a module connection part constructed such that it is connected to the corresponding module connection part of said common functional body; and

a recognition apply means for enabling said medical apparatus to discriminate its function kind of said functional module.

21. The medical functional module as set forth in claim 20, wherein said connection part of said functional module has an electrical connection portion or a mechanical connection portion.

The medical functional module as set forth in claim 20, wherein said module connection part of said medical functional module is constructed such that it is mechanically and functionally integrated with said medical apparatus as one unit structure when said module connection part is connected to said medical apparatus.

23. The functional module as set forth in claim 20, wherein said module connection part of said functional module is replaceably connected to the corresponding connection part of said medical apparatus.

24. The functional module as set forth in claim 20 wherein said module connection part of said functional module is constructed such that it is made under the same standard for plural medical functional modules.

25. The functional module as set forth in claim 20, further comprising a multi-joint type connection portion to which various multi-joint type instruments corresponding to the function of said functional module are detachably connected.

26. The functional module as set forth in claim 20, wherein said functional module has a sub module connection portion to which medical functional modules having individual function of medical treatment and /or diagnosis is replaceably connected.

27. The functional module as set forth in claim 20, wherein said functional module has a battery working as a driving power source for conducting medical treatment and/or diagnosis.

28. The functional module as set forth in claim 20, wherein a control software for communicating with said medical apparatus for cooperatively functioning in accordance with the function of said functional module after when said functional module is connected to said medical apparatus.

30. A medical system for use in medical treatment and/or diagnosis comprising a treatment bed for holding a patient in sitting position or lying in face up position, and a common functional body having a display section for displaying necessary information relating to medical treatment and/or diagnosis, and an operation section for medical treatment and/or diagnosis, wherein a module connection part to which a functional module with individual function of medical treatment and/or diagnosis is replaceably connected, whereby said common functional body cooperatively functions in accordance with the function of said functional module to be connected thereto, when said common functional body is connected to said functional module.

31. A functional module unit for use in medical treatment and/or diagnosis comprising;

plural kinds of individual functional module unit incorporating therein an operational control part corresponding to its individual function of medical treatment and/or diagnosis function, and

a common functional module unit having at least a display section for displaying necessary information relating to medical treatment and/or diagnosis, and an operation section for medical treatment and/or diagnosis, said individual functional module unit being replaceably connected to said common functional module unit,

wherein electrical connection portion and mechanical connection portion are correspondingly provided with said common functional module unit for integrating said individual functional module unit, and wherein

said display section and said operation section of said common functional unit serve as that of said individual function module unit in accordance with said individual function module unit by changing its operation mode to such mode corresponding to said individual functional module unit when said individual functional module unit is connected to said common functional module unit, said common functional module unit discriminating said individual functional unit through the mutual communication with said individual functional module unit.

The functional module unit as set forth in claim 31, wherein said common functional module unit has therein an energy supply means comprising at least one of power supply circuit, water supply means and air supply means, each of which supplying power, water or air to said individual functional module unit to be connected thereto.
