A method of producing a therapeutic agent in a body, the method comprising implanting a plurality of electrodes in the body and creating an electrical potential between pairs of said electrodes, said electrical potential being for electrochemically converting at least one substance present in the body, directly or indirectly, into the therapeutic agent.
