Abstract

Feature amounts of faces of visitors photographed at a first gate are registered in a registration section in relation to entrance permission time information items each of which defines a period of time during which entrance through a second gate provided inside the first gate is permitted. At the second gate, the face of the visitor is photographed and the feature amount of the photographed face of the visitor is collated with the face feature amounts registered in the registration section. Entrance through the second gate is controlled based on the result of collation and the entrance permission time information registered in the registration section.

Claims

1. An entrance management apparatus which manages entrance through a first gate and entrance through a second gate provided inside the first gate, comprising:

a first living body information input section which acquires living body information of a visitor at the first gate,

a feature amount extracting section which extracts a feature amount of the living body information of the visitor based on the living body information acquired by said first living body information input section,

a registration section which registers the feature amount of the living body information extracted by said feature amount extracting section in relation to entrance permission time information which defines time during which the visitor whose living body information is acquired by said first living body information input section is permitted to enter through the second gate,

a second living body information input section which acquires living body information of the visitor at the second gate,

a collating section which extracts a feature amount of the living body information of the visitor based on the living body information acquired by said second living body information input section and collates the extracted feature amount with the feature amount registered in said registration section, and

an entrance control section which controls the entrance of the visitor whose living body information is acquired by said second living body information input section through the second gate based on the result of collation by said collating section and the entrance permission time information registered in said registration section and corresponding to the result of collation.

2. An entrance management apparatus which manages entrance through a first gate and entrance through a second gate provided inside the first gate, comprising:

a first image input section which acquires a face image of a visitor at the first gate,

a feature amount extracting section which extracts a feature amount of a face of the visitor based on the face image acquired by said first image input section,

a registration section which registers the feature amount of the face extracted by said feature amount extracting section in relation to entrance permission time information which defines time during which the visitor whose face image is acquired by said first image input section is permitted to enter through the second gate,

a second image input section which acquires a face image of the visitor at the second gate,

a collating section which extracts a feature amount of the face of the visitor based on the face image acquired by said second image input section and collates the extracted feature amount with the feature amount registered in said registration section, and

an entrance control section which controls the entrance of the visitor whose face image is acquired by said second image input section through the second gate based on the result of collation by said collating section and the entrance permission time information registered in said registration section and corresponding to the result of collation.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said registration section creates the entrance permission time information while a time point at which the face image is acquired by said first image input section or a time point at which the face feature amount is extracted by said face feature amount extracting section is used as a reference.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 2, which further comprises a destination input section by use of which a destination is input at the first gate by a visitor whose face image is acquired by said first image input section and in which said registration section registers the face feature amount extracted by said feature amount extracting section in relation to entrance permission time information which defines time during which the visitor whose face image is acquired by said first image input section is permitted to enter through the second gate and destination information indicating the destination input by said destination input section, and said entrance control section controls entrance by the visitor whose face image is acquired by said second image input section through the second gate based on the result of collation by said collating section and the entrance permission time information and destination information registered in said registration section which correspond to the result of collation.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 2, further comprising an image recording section which records the face images acquired by said first and second image input sections and an image output section which outputs the face image recorded in said image recording section as a visible image as required.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 5, which further comprises a destination input section by use of which a destination is input at the first gate by a visitor whose face image is acquired by said first image input section and in which said registration section registers the face feature amount extracted by said feature amount extracting section in relation to entrance permission time information which defines time during which the visitor whose face image is acquired by said first image input section is permitted to enter through the second gate and destination information indicating the destination input by said destination input section, and said entrance control section controls entrance by the visitor whose face image is acquired by said second image input section through the second gate based on the result of collation by said collating section and the entrance permission time information and destination information registered in said registration section which correspond to the result of collation.

7. An entrance management apparatus which manages entrance through a gate, comprising:

an image input section which acquires a face image of a visitor at the gate,

a face detecting section which detects a face feature amount based on the face image acquired by said image input section,

an image recording section which records the face image acquired by said image input section in the case where the face feature amount is detected by said face detecting section, and

an access control section which permits access through the gate only in the case where the face feature amount is detected by said face detecting section.

8. The entrance management apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said access control section is a call signal generating section which generates a call signal used to call a to-be-visited person in response to a specification by a visitor only in the case where the face feature amount is detected by said face detecting section.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 7, in which said access control section is a key receiving section which receives a key presented by a visitor only in the case where the face feature amount is detected by said face detecting section and which further comprises a lock control section which unlocks a door provided on the gate based on the key received by said key receiving section.

10. An entrance management method which manages entrance through a first gate and entrance through a second gate provided inside the first gate, comprising:

acquiring living body information of a visitor at the first gate,

extracting a feature amount of the living body information of the visitor based on the living body information acquired at the first gate,

registering the extracted feature amount of the living body information in relation to entrance permission time information which defines time during which the visitor is permitted to enter through the second gate into a registration section,

acquiring living body information of the visitor at the second gate,

extracting a feature amount of the living body information of the visitor based on the living body information acquired at the second gate and collating the extracted feature amount with the feature amount registered in the registration section, and

controlling the entrance of the visitor whose living body information is acquired at the second gate through the second gate based on the result of collation and the entrance permission time information registered in the registration section and corresponding to the result of collation.

11. An entrance management method which manages entrance through a first gate and entrance through a second gate provided inside the first gate, comprising:

acquiring a face image of a visitor at the first gate,

extracting a face feature amount of the visitor based on the face image acquired at the first gate,

registering the extracted face feature amount in relation to entrance permission time information which defines time during which the visitor is permitted to enter through the second gate in a registration section,

acquiring a face image of the visitor at the second gate,

extracting a face feature amount of the visitor based on the face image acquired at the second gate and collating the extracted feature amount with the feature amount registered in the registration section, and

controlling the entrance of the visitor whose face image is acquired at the second gate through the second gate based on the result of collation and the entrance permission time information registered in the registration section and corresponding to the result of collation.

The entrance management method according to claim 11, which further comprises inputting a destination at the first gate by the visitor whose face image is acquired and in which registering into the registration section includes registering the face feature amount of the visitor in relation to the entrance permission time information which defines time during which the visitor at the first gate is permitted to enter through the second gate and destination information input by the visitor at the first gate, and controlling entrance through the second gate includes controlling entrance of the visitor whose face image is acquired at the second gate through the second gate based on the result of collation and the entrance permission time information and destination information registered in the registration section and corresponding to the result of collation.

13. The entrance management method according to claim 11, further comprising recoding the face images acquired at the first and second gates into an image recording section, and outputting the face image recorded in the image recording section as a visible image as required.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 16, wherein said registration section, destination input section, first image input section, first face feature amount extracting section, first collating section and first entrance control section are provided in a first device disposed neat the first gate, said storage section, second image input section, second face feature amount extracting section, second collating section, second entrance control section and access inhibiting section are provided in a second device each disposed near a corresponding one of the second gates, and the first and second devices are connected to communicate with each other.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 16, which further comprises a dishonest access information holding section which holds a face feature amount of a visitor who is inhibited from accessing through any one of the second gates by said access inhibiting section and in which at lest said second collating section among said first and second collating sections further performs a collation process with the face feature amount stored in said dishonest access information holding section.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 16, further comprising an authentication section which acquires information of a person who exits through one of the second gates, a presence-in-room management information storage section in which presence-in-room information indicating whether or not persons exist inside the respective second gates is stored based on information of a person who has entered under the control of said second entrance control section and information of a person whose exit is confirmed by said authentication section, and an informing section which informs a visitor of absence if a person is absent inside one of the second gates which corresponds to the destination input by use of said destination input section based on the presence-in-room information stored in said presence-in-room management information storage section in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount registered in said registration section by said first collating section.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 19, wherein setting information of access rights corresponding to presence-in-room information items is stored in said presence-in-room management information storage section and said first and second entrance control sections control entrance of a visitor based on presence-in-room information stored in said presence-in-room management information storage section and setting information of access rights corresponding to presence-in-room information.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 19, wherein said registration section, destination input section, first image input section, first face feature amount extracting section, first collating section, first entrance control section and informing section are provided in a first device disposed neat the first gate, said storage section, second image input section, second face feature amount extracting section, second collating section, second entrance control section, access inhibiting section and authentication section are provided in a second device each disposed near a corresponding one of the second gates, and the first and second devices and a presence-in-room management information storage device having said presence-in-room management information storage section are connected to communicate with each other.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 16, further comprising a third image input section which acquires a face image of a person who exits through one of the second gates, an information input section by use of which a person who enters through one of the second gates or exits through the second gate inputs message information, a history information storage section which stores the face image acquired by said second image input section at the time of entrance or the face image acquired by said third image input section at the time of exit together with message information input by said information input section, and an output section which outputs information stored in said authentication history information storage section in a preset form.

25. The entrance management method according to claim 24, which further comprises storing the face feature amount of the visitor who is inhibited from accessing through any one of the second gates into a dishonest access information storage section and in which collation with the face feature amount stored in said dishonest access information storage section is made in at least the collation process at the second gate among the collation processes at the first and second gates.

The entrance management method according to claim 24, further comprising acquiring information of a person who exits through one of the second gates, storing presence-in-room information indicating each person who exists inside a corresponding one of the second gates into a presence-in-room management information storage section based on information of each person who has entered through the second gate and information of each person who exits through the second gate, and informing a visitor of absence if a person is absent inside a corresponding one of the second gates which corresponds to the destination input by the visitor based on the presence-in-room information stored in the presence-in-room management information storage section in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount registered in the registration section by collation at the first gate.

27. The entrance management method according to claim 24, further comprising acquiring a face image of a person who exits through one of the second gates, inputting message information by a person who enters through one of the second gates or a person who exits through one of the second gates, storing the face image acquired at the time of entrance or the face image acquired at the time of exit together with the message information into a history information storage section, and outputting information stored in the authentication history information storage section in a preset form.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 29, wherein said registration section registers each face feature amount in relation to information of date and hour at the time of exit and said entrance control section controls entrance of the user through the gate based on the result of collation by said collating section and the date and hour information registered in said registration section in relation to the collated face feature amount.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 29, which further comprises a first voice acquiring section which acquires a voice uttered by the user in the case where the user exits and a second voice acquiring section which acquires a voice uttered by the user in the case where the user enters, and in which said registration section registers the face feature amount extracted by said first face feature amount extracting section in relation to the voice acquired by said first voice acquiring section, said exit control section permits the user to exit through the gate based on completion of registration of the face feature amount and voice by said registration section, said collating section collates the face feature amount extracted by said second face feature amount extracting section with the face feature amount registered in said registration section and collates the voice acquired by said second voice acquiring section with the voice registered in said registration section, and said entrance control section controls entrance of the user through the gate based on the results of face collation and voice collation by said collating section.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 31, wherein said registration section registers date and hour information in relation to the face feature amount and voice, and said entrance control section controls entrance of the user through the gate based on the results of face collation and voice collation by said collating section and the date and hour information registered in said registration section in relation to the collated face feature amount or voice.

14. An entrance management method which manages entrance through a gate, comprising:

acquiring a face image of a visitor at the gate, detecting a face feature amount based on the acquired face image,

recording the face image of the visitor acquired at the gate into an image recording section in the case where the face feature amount is detected by detecting a face pattern, and

permitting access to a place inside the gate only in the case where the face feature amount is detected by detecting the face pattern.

15. An entrance management apparatus which manages entrance through a first gate and entrance through a plurality of second gates provided inside the first gate, comprising:

a registration section in which a feature amount of living body information of at least one person who has authorization of entrance through the first gate is registered in correspondence to the presence or absence of authorization of entrance through at least one of the second gates,

a destination input section by use of which a destination is input by a visitor at the first gate,

a first living body information input section which acquires living body information of the visitor at the first gate,

a first feature amount extracting section which extracts a feature amount of living body information based on the living body information acquired by said first living body information input section,

a first collating section which collates the feature amount extracted by said first feature amount extracting section with the feature amount registered in said registration section,

a first entrance control section which permits entrance of the visitor in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount registered in said registration section by said first collating section and controls entrance of the visitor based on a specification of a person who exists in the destination input by said destination input section in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount registered in said registration section by said first collating section,

a storage section which stores a feature amount of living body information of a visitor who obtains permission of entrance based on the specification of the person existing in the destination in relation to one of the second gates which corresponds to the destination,

a second living body information input section which acquires living body information of the visitor at the second gate,

a second feature amount extracting section which extracts a feature amount of living body information based on the living body information acquired by said second living body information input section,

a second collating section which collates the feature amount extracted by said second feature amount extracting section with the feature amount registered in said registration section and the feature amount stored in said storage section,

a second entrance control section which permits entrance through the said second gate in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the face feature amount of a person who has authorization to enter through the said second gate registered in said registration section by said second collating section and controls entrance of the visitor through the said second gate based on a specification of a person who exists inside the said second gate in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of living body information of a person who has no authorization to enter through the said second gate registered in said registration section by said second collating section or in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of living body information of a person in association with the said second gate which is the destination stored in said storage section, and

an access inhibiting section which inhibits access through any one of the second gates by the visitor in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount registered in said registration section by said second collating section or in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount of living body information of a person in association with the said second gate which is the destination stored in said storage section.

16. An entrance management apparatus which manages entrance through a first gate and entrance through a plurality of second gates provided inside the first gate, comprising:

a registration section in which a feature amount of living body information of at least one person who has authorization of entrance through the first gate is registered in correspondence to the presence or absence of authorization of entrance through each of the second gates,

a destination input section by use of which a destination is input by a visitor at the first gate,

a first image input section which acquires a face image of the visitor at the first gate,

a first face feature amount extracting section which extracts a face feature amount based on the face image acquired by said first image input section,

a first collating section which collates the feature amount extracted by said first face feature amount extracting section with the feature amount registered in said registration section,

a first entrance control section which permits entrance of the visitor in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount registered in said registration section by said first collating section and controls entrance of the visitor based on a specification of a person who exists in the destination input by said destination input section in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount registered in said registration section by said first collating section,

a storage section which stores a face feature amount of the visitor who obtains permission of entrance based on the specification of the person existing in the destination in relation to one of the second gates which corresponds to the destination,

a second image input section which acquires a face image of a visitor at the second gate,

a second face feature amount extracting section which extracts a face feature amount based on the face image acquired by said second image input section,

a second collating section which collates the feature amount extracted by said second face feature amount extracting section with the feature amount registered in said registration section and the feature amount stored in said storage section,

a second entrance control section which permits entrance through the said second gate in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of a face of a person who has authorization to enter through the corresponding second gate registered in said registration section by said second collating section and controls entrance of the visitor through the said second gate based on a specification of a person who exists inside the said second gate in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of the face of a person who has no authorization to enter through the said second gate registered in said registration section by said second collating section or in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of a face of a person in association with the said second gate which is the destination stored in said storage section, and

an access inhibiting section which inhibits the visitor from accessing through any one of the second gates in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount registered in said registration section by said second collating section or in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount of a face of a person in association with the said second gate which is the destination stored in said storage section.

23. An entrance management method which manages entrance through a first gate and entrance through a plurality of second gates provided inside the first gate, comprising:

registering a feature amount of living body information of at least one person who has authorization of entrance through the first gate in correspondence to the presence or absence of authorization of entrance through at least one of the second gates into a registration section,

inputting a destination by a visitor at the first gate,

acquiring living body information of the visitor at the first gate,

extracting a feature amount of living body information based on the acquired living body information,

collating the extracted feature amount with the feature amount registered in the registration section,

permitting entrance of the visitor in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount registered in the registration section in said collation process and controlling entrance of the visitor based on a specification of a person who exists in the destination input by the visitor in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount registered in the registration section in said collation process,

storing a feature amount of living body information of a visitor who obtains permission of entrance based on the specification of the person existing in the destination in relation to one of the second gates which corresponds to the destination into a storage section,

acquiring living body information of the visitor at the second gate,

extracting a feature amount of living body information based on the acquired living body information,

collating the extracted feature amount with the feature amount registered in the registration section and the feature amount stored in the storage section,

permitting entrance through the said second gate in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of a face of a person who has authorization to enter through the said second gate registered in the registration section by collation at the corresponding second gate,

controlling entrance of the visitor through the second gate based on a specification of a person who exists inside the said second gate in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of living body information of a person who has no authorization to enter through the said second gate registered in the registration section by collation at the said second gate or in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of living body information of a person in association with the said second gate which is the destination stored in the storage section, and

inhibiting access by the visitor through anyone of the second gates in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount registered in the registration section by collation at the second gate or in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount of living body information of a person in association with the said second gate which is the destination stored in the storage section.

24. An entrance management method which manages entrance through a first gate and entrance through a plurality of second gates provided inside the first gate, comprising:

registering a feature amount of a face of at least one person who has authorization of entrance through the first gate in correspondence to the presence or absence of authorization of entrance through at least one of the second gates into a registration section,

inputting a destination by a visitor at the first gate,

acquiring a face image of the visitor at the first gate,

extracting a face feature amount based on the acquired face image,

collating the extracted feature amount with the feature amount registered in the registration section,

permitting entrance of the visitor in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount registered in the registration section by collation at the first gate and controlling entrance of the visitor based on a specification of a person who exists in the destination input by the visitor in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount registered in the registration section by collation at the first gate,

storing a face feature amount of a visitor who obtains permission of entrance based on the specification of the person existing in the destination in relation to one of the second gates which corresponds to the destination into a storage section,

acquiring a face image of the visitor at the second gate,

extracting a feature amount of the face based on the acquired face image,

collating the extracted feature amount with the feature amount registered in the registration section and the feature amount stored in the storage section,

permitting entrance through the said second gate in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of a face of a person who has authorization to enter through the said second gate registered in the registration section by collation at the said second gate,

controlling entrance of the visitor through the second gate based on a specification of a person who exists inside the said second gate in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of a face of a person who has no authorization to enter through the said second gate registered in the registration section by collation at the said second gate or in the case where the feature amount is successfully collated with the feature amount of a face of a person in association with the said second gate which is the destination stored in the storage section, and

inhibiting access by the visitor through any one of the second gates in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount registered in the registration section by collation at the second gate or in the case where the feature amount is not successfully collated with the feature amount of a face of a person in association with the said second gate which is the destination stored in the storage section.

28. An entrance management apparatus which manages entrance through a gate, comprising:

a first image input section which acquires living body information of a user in the case where the user exits an area inside the gate,

a first feature amount extracting section which extracts a feature amount of the living body information of the user based on the living body information acquired by said first image input section,

a registration section which registers the feature amount of the living body information extracted by said first feature amount extracting section,

an exit control section which permits the user to exit through the gate in the case where registration of the feature amount of the living body information by said registration section is completed,

a second living body information input section which acquires living body information of a user in the case where the user enters the area inside the gate,

a second feature amount extracting section which extracts a feature amount of the living body information of the user based on the living body information acquired by said second image input section,

a collating section which collates the feature amount of the living body information extracted by said second feature amount extracting section with the feature amount of the living body information registered in said registration section, and

an entrance control section which controls entrance of the user at the gate based on the result of collation by said collating section.

29. An entrance management apparatus which manages entrance through a gate, comprising:

a first image input section which acquires a face image of a user in the case where the user exits an area inside the gate,

a first feature amount extracting section which extracts a feature amount of the face of the user based on the face image acquired by said first image input section,

a registration section which registers the face feature amount extracted by said first feature amount extracting section,

an exit control section which permits the user to exit through the gate in the case where registration of the face feature amount by said registration section is completed,

a second image input section which acquires a face image of a user in the case where the user enters the area inside the gate,

a second feature amount extracting section which extracts a face feature amount of the user based on the face image acquired by said second image input section,

a collating section which collates the face feature amount extracted by said second feature amount extracting section with the face feature amount registered in said registration section, and

an entrance control section which controls entrance of the user at the gate based on the result of collation by said collating section.

33. An entrance management apparatus which manages entrance through a gate, comprising:

a storage section in which feature amounts of faces of existing users are previously stored,

an image input section which acquires a face image of a visitor at the gate,

a face feature amount extracting section which extracts a face feature amount of the visitor based on the face image acquired by said image input section,

a collating section which collates the face feature amount extracted by said face feature amount extracting section with each of the face feature amounts stored in said storage section,

a registration section which registers the face feature amount of the visitor extracted by said face feature amount extracting section as information of a visitor who has visited for the first time in the case where the feature amount cannot be satisfactorily collated with any one of the feature amounts stored in said storage section by said collating section, and

an entrance control section which controls entrance of the visitor to a destination in the case where the feature amount is satisfactorily collated with one of the feature amounts stored in said storage section by said collating section or in the case where registration of the face feature amount by said registration section is completed.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 33, wherein said registration section registers the face feature amount of the visitor extracted by said face feature amount extracting section as information of a visitor who has visited for the first time based on a specification of a person who exists inside the gate in the case where the feature amount cannot be satisfactorily collated with any one of the feature amounts stored in said storage section by said collating section.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 33, wherein said entrance control section controls entrance of the visitor based on a specification of a person who exists inside the gate in the case where the feature amount is satisfactorily collated with one of the feature amounts stored in said storage section or in the case where registration of the face feature amount by said registration section is completed.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 33, which further comprises an information input section by use of which the visitor inputs key information at the gate and in which said storage section stores the face feature amounts of the existing users in relation to the key information items, said collating section searches for a face feature amount corresponding to the key information input by use of said information input section from said storage section and collates the face feature amount corresponding to the key information with the face feature amount extracted by said face feature amount extracting section, said registration section receives key information input by use of said information input section and registers the input key information in relation to the face feature amount of the visitor extracted by said face feature amount extracting section into said storage section in the case where no key information is input by use of said information input section or in the case where said collating section detects that the face feature amount corresponding to the input key information is not present in said storage section, and said entrance control section controls entrance of the visitor in the case where collation by said collating section is satisfactorily made or in the case where registration of the face feature amount and key information by said registration section is completed.

37. The entrance management apparatus according to claim 36, wherein said information input section is a keyboard by use of which the visitor inputs key information.

38. The entrance management apparatus according to claim 36, wherein said information input section is a voice input device by use of which the visitor inputs key information with a voice.

The entrance management apparatus according to claim 36, which further comprises an interior determining section which determines whether or not a person is present in the visiting destination and an informing section which informs the visitor of a message indicating that a person is not present inside the gate in the case where said interior determining section determines that a person is not present inside the gate and in which said collating section collates the face feature amount extracted by said face feature amount extracting section with each of the face feature amounts stored in said storage section in the case where said interior determining section determines that a person is present inside the gate.
