wherein the housing is adapted to be interchangeable with a second changeable housing that is changeable by the cordless telephone user.

providing telephone circuitry having a front side, the front side having a top end and a bottom end;
providing a housing having a top shell and a bottom shell, the top shell and the bottom shell being disconnectable;
mating the top shell and the bottom shell around the telephone circuitry in a direction from the top end to the bottom end of the telephone circuitry.
