Abstract

A digital image storage includes a connector for communicating with a digital camera and a detector that detects a signal to cause the transmission of a digital data from a memory of the digital camera to the digital image storage. The digital image storage further includes a function unit responsive to the signal form the detector to carry out the transmission of the digital data of images with the other digital data not transmitted and a storage medium that stores the transmitted data of images.

Claims

1. A digital image storage for a digital camera having a memory capable of storing digital data of images and other digital data, the digital data of images in the memory being transmitted to the digital image storage, comprising:

a connector for communicating with the digital camera;

a detector that detects a signal to cause the transmission of the digital data from the memory of the digital camera to the digital image storage;

a function unit responsive to the signal form the detector to carry out the transmission of the digital data of images with the other digital data not transmitted; and

a storage medium that stores the transmitted data of images.

2. The digital image storage according to claim 1, wherein the function unit is designed to transmit all the digital data of images in the memory in response the signal.

3. The digital image storage according to claim 1, wherein the digital data of images includes still images and motion picture images.

4. The digital image storage according to claim 1, wherein the function unit is designed to carry out the transmission of the digital data of images in order of the time when respective digital data of images were taken by the digital camera.

5. The digital image storage according to claim 1, wherein the detector detects the signal through the connector.

6. The digital image storage according to claim 1, wherein the connector includes an adapter for coupling with the digital camera.

7. The digital image storage according to claim 6, wherein the digital camera includes a battery, and wherein the adapter is designed to charge the battery when the digital camera is coupled with the adapter.

8. The digital image storage according to claim 6, wherein the signal is caused by the coupling of the digital camera with the adapter.

9. A program carried out in a digital image storage for a digital camera having a memory capable of storing digital data of images and other digital data, the digital data of images in the memory being transmitted to the digital image storage, the program comprising the steps of:

detecting a signal to initiate the transmission of the digital data from the memory of the digital camera to the digital image storage;

carrying out in response to the signal the transmission of all the digital data of images with the other digital data not transmitted; and

storing the transmitted data of images in the digital image storage.

10. A digital image storage system for a digital camera having a memory capable of storing digital data of images and other digital data, comprising:

an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down to communicate therewith; and

an image storage in communication with the adapter for transmitting digital data form the memory to the image storage through the adapter, including a storage medium, a detector that detects a signal to cause the transmission of the digital data from the memory to the storage medium, and a function unit responsive to the signal form the detector to carry out the transmission of the digital data of images with the other digital data not transmitted.
