Abstract

The present invention provides a wireless LAN system and the like which uses a single wireless telephone line, and when a telephone apparatus outside the network originates a call to the LAN, allows establishment of wireless telephone communication between that telephone apparatus and a slave communication device by themselves through a host station without relaying through a master communication device while that originated call once terminates at the master communication device, and does not require particular processing such as authentication on the host station side. Each transmission/reception means 5 is controlled to switch between a first state in normal times in which a transmission/reception means 5 of a master communication device 1 is turned on and transmission/reception means 5 of respective slave communication devices 2 are turned off and a second state at the time of control delegation in which the transmission/reception means 5 of the master communication device 1 is turned off and only the transmission/reception means 5 of any one of the slave communication devices which is a subject of control delegation is turned on, and when a reason of terminating control delegation to any slave communication device occurs in the first state, a terminating control delegation signal for permitting the transmission/reception means of that slave communication device to be turned on is transmitted from the master communication device 1 to that slave communication device 2 through the respective short-range wireless communication means to perform switching to the second state.

Claims

1. A wireless LAN system comprising electronic apparatuses in a network, each of the electronic apparatuses comprising, at least, short-range wireless communication means for performing transmission and reception of a radio signal among the respective electronic apparatuses in said network, transmission/reception means of a radio signal for performing communication using a wireless telephone line, and control means for controlling said short-range wireless communication means and said transmission/reception means, one of the respective electronic apparatuses serving as a master communication device and controlling the other respective electronic apparatuses as slave communication devices to share said wireless telephone line among the respective electronic apparatuses, characterized in that the respective transmission/reception means are controlled to switch between a first state in normal times in which the transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned on and the transmission/reception means of the respective slave communication devices are turned off and a second state at the time of control delegation in which said transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned off and only the transmission/reception means of any one of the slave communication devices which is a subject of control delegation is turned on, and when a reason of terminating control delegation to any slave communication device occurs in said first state, a terminating control delegation signal for permitting the transmission/reception means of that slave communication device to be turned on is transmitted from said master communication device to that slave communication device through the respective short-range wireless communication means to perform switching to said second state.

The wireless LAN system according to claim 1, characterized in that, in the second state at the time of said terminating control delegation, each of the transmission/reception means is controlled to return to said first state when a control delegation completion reason occurs for the slave communication device which was the subject of the terminating control delegation.

The wireless LAN system according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said transmission/reception means of said master communication device or said slave communication device is controlled to be in a state in which at least output of a radio signal for location registration is prohibited during turn-off of said transmission/reception means.

The wireless LAN system according to claim 3, characterized in that said transmission/reception means of said master communication device or said slave communication device is controlled to be in a state in which power supply to said transmission/reception means is prohibited during turn-off of said transmission/reception means.

The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that switching to said second state is started in said first state on the basis of a determination result by said control means of said master communication device about occurrence of said terminating control delegation reason, and switching to said first state is started in said second state on the basis of a determination result by said control means of the slave communication device which received control delegation about occurrence of said control delegation completion reason.

The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that each of the electronic apparatuses in the network holds identifying information for identifying itself or others and includes the identifying information of itself as originating information and identifying information of a transmission destination as destination information in a radio signal to be transmitted by said short-range wireless communication means.

7. The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that each of the short-range wireless communication means is controlled to at least transmit and receive a status signal indicating a turn-on or turn-off state in said transmission/reception means of that device.

8. The wireless LAN system according to claim 7, characterized in that each of the short-range wireless communication means is controlled to transmit and receive a status signal indicating the state of that device.

The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that each of the transmission/reception means is controlled such that said transmission/reception means of the slave communication device which received said terminating control delegation is turned on after waiting until said transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned off at the time of switching from said first state to said second state, and said transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned on after waiting until said transmission/reception means of the slave communication device which received said terminating control delegation is turned off at the time of switching from said second state to said first state.

The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that, when wireless telephone communication is performed between said master communication device and a telephone apparatus outside the network in said first state and if said transmission/reception means of said master communication device receives a signal for specifying any slave communication device transmitted from said telephone apparatus, switching to said second state is performed assuming that said terminating control delegation reason occurs.

The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that said master communication device has operation input means for a user to operate, and when wireless telephone communication is performed between said master communication device and a telephone apparatus outside the network in said first state and if operation input is performed on said operation input means for specifying any slave communication device, switching to said second state is performed assuming that said terminating control delegation reason occurs.

The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 2 to 11, characterized in that when the slave communication device which received terminating control delegation performs communication by said transmission/reception means with a telephone apparatus outside the network in said second state and if the communication with that telephone apparatus is completed, switching to said first state is performed assuming that the control delegation completion reason occurs.

The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 2 to 12, characterized in that when the slave communication device which received terminating control delegation does not perform communication by said transmission/reception means with a telephone apparatus outside the network in a predetermined time period in said second state, switching to said first state is performed assuming that the control delegation completion reason occurs.

14. The wireless LAN system according to any-of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that at least an instruction permitting use of an ID of said wireless telephone line to turn on said transmission/reception means is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

15. The wireless LAN system according to claim 14, characterized in that a signal including destination information on the slave communication device to which control is to be delegated is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

16. The wireless LAN system according to claim 14 or 15, characterized in that an instruction for prohibiting originating by said transmission/reception means is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

17. The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 14 to 16, characterized in that telephone number information of a telephone device outside the network and an instruction for permitting terminating only of a call originated from that telephone apparatus are transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

18. The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 14 to 17, characterized in that telephone number information of a telephone device outside the network and an instruction for permitting originating to that telephone apparatus are transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

19. The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 14 to 18, characterized in that an ID for using said wireless telephone line is set only for said master communication device, and a signal including the ID of the wireless telephone line is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

20. The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 1 to 18, characterized in that an ID for using said wireless telephone line is set for said master communication device and the respective slave communication devices.

21. The wireless LAN system according to any of claims 1 to 20, characterized in that said master communication device is a stationary electronic apparatus.

22. A method of controlling a wireless LAN system comprising electronic apparatuses in a network, each of the electronic apparatuses comprising, at least, short-range wireless communication means for performing transmission and reception of a radio signal among the respective electronic apparatuses in said network, and transmission/reception means of a radio signal for performing communication using a wireless telephone line, one of the respective electronic apparatuses serving as a master communication device and controlling the other respective electronic apparatuses as slave communication devices to share said wireless telephone line among the respective electronic apparatuses, characterized in that the respective transmission/reception means are controlled to switch between a first state in normal times in which the transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned on and the transmission/reception means of the respective slave communication devices are turned off and a second state at the time of control delegation in which said transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned off and only the transmission/reception means of any one of the slave communication devices which is a subject of control delegation is turned on, and when a reason of terminating control delegation to any slave communication device occurs in said first state, a terminating control delegation signal for permitting the transmission/reception means of that slave communication device to be turned on is transmitted from said master communication device to that slave communication device through the respective short-range wireless communication means to perform switching to said second state.

The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to claim 22, characterized in that, in the second state at the time of said terminating control delegation, each of the transmission/reception means is controlled to return to said first state when a control delegation completion reason occurs for the slave communication device which was the subject of the control delegation.

The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to claim 22 or 23, characterized in that said transmission/reception means of said master communication device or said slave communication device is controlled to be in a state in which at least output of a radio signal for location registration is prohibited during turn-off of said transmission/reception means.

25. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to claim 24, characterized in that said transmission/reception means of said master communication device or said slave communication device is controlled to be in a state in which power supply to said transmission/reception means is prohibited during turn-off of said transmission/reception means.

The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 23 to 25, characterized in that switching to said second state is started in said first state on the basis of a determination result by said master communication device about occurrence of said terminating control delegation reason, and switching to said first state is started in said second state on the basis of a determination result by the slave communication device which received control delegation about occurrence of said control delegation completion reason.

The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 22 to 26, characterized in that each of the electronic apparatuses in the network holds identifying information for identifying itself or others and includes the identifying information of itself as originating information and identifying information of a transmission destination as destination information in a radio signal to be transmitted by said short-range wireless communication means.

28. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 22 to 27, characterized in that each of the short-range wireless communication means is controlled to function as transmission/reception means of at least a status signal indicating a turn-on or turn-off state in said transmission/reception means of that device.

29. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to claim 28, characterized in that each of the short-range wireless communication means is controlled to function as transmission/reception means of a status signal indicating the state of that device.

30. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 22 to 29, characterized in that each of the transmission/reception means is controlled such that said transmission/reception means of the slave communication device which received said control delegation is turned on after waiting until said transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned off at the time of switching from said first state to said second state, and said transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned on after waiting until said transmission/reception means of the slave communication device which received said terminating control delegation is turned off at the time of switching from said second state to said first state.

The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 22 to 30, characterized in that, when wireless telephone communication is performed between said master communication device and a telephone apparatus outside the network in said first state and if said transmission/reception means of said master communication device receives a signal for specifying any slave communication device transmitted from said telephone apparatus, switching to said second state is performed assuming that said terminating control delegation reason occurs.

32. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 22 to 31, characterized in that said master communication device has operation input means for a user to operate, and when wireless telephone communication is performed between said master communication device and a telephone apparatus outside the network in said first state and if operation input is performed on said operation input means for specifying any slave communication device, switching to said second state is performed assuming that said terminating control delegation reason occurs.

33. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 22 to 32, characterized in that when the slave communication device which received terminating control delegation performs communication by said transmission/reception means with a telephone apparatus outside the network in said second state and if the communication with that telephone apparatus is completed, switching to said first state is performed assuming that said control delegation completion reason occurs.

The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 22 to 33, characterized in that when the slave communication device which received terminating control delegation does not perform communication by said transmission/reception means with a telephone apparatus outside the network in a predetermined time period in said second state, switching to said first state is performed assuming that the control delegation completion reason occurs.

35. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 22 to 34, characterized in that at least an instruction permitting use of an ID of said wireless telephone line to turn on said transmission/reception means is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

36. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to claim 35, characterized in that a signal including destination information on the slave communication device to which control is to be delegated is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

37. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to claim 35 or 36, characterized in that an instruction for prohibiting originating by said transmission/reception means is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

38. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 35 to 37, characterized in that telephone number information of a telephone device outside the network and an instruction for permitting terminating only of a call originated from that telephone apparatus are transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

39. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 35 to 38, characterized in that telephone number information of a telephone device outside the network and an instruction for permitting originating to that telephone apparatus are transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

40. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 35 to 39, characterized in that an ID for using said wireless telephone line is set only for said master communication device, and a signal including the ID of the wireless telephone line is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

41. The method of controlling a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 22 to 39, characterized in that an ID for using said wireless telephone line is set for said master communication device and the respective slave communication devices.

42. A control program for a wireless LAN system comprising electronic apparatuses in a network, each of the electronic apparatuses comprising, at least, short-range wireless communication means for performing transmission and reception of a radio signal among the respective electronic apparatuses in said network, transmission/reception means of a radio signal for performing communication using a wireless telephone line, and control means for controlling said short-range wireless communication means and said transmission/reception means, one of the respective electronic apparatuses serving as a master communication device and controlling the other respective electronic apparatuses as slave communication devices to share said wireless telephone line among the respective electronic apparatuses, characterized in that the respective transmission/reception means are controlled to switch between a first state in normal times in which the transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned on and the transmission/reception means of the respective slave communication devices are turned off and a second state at the time of control delegation in which said transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned off and only the transmission/reception means of any one of the slave communication devices which is a subject of control delegation is turned on, and when a reason of terminating control delegation to any slave communication device occurs in said first state, a terminating control delegation signal for permitting the transmission/reception means of that slave communication device to be turned on is transmitted from said master communication device to that slave communication device through the respective short-range wireless communication means to perform switching to said second state.

43. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to claim 42, characterized in that, in the second state at the time of said control delegation, each of the transmission/reception means is controlled to return to said first state when a control delegation completion reason occurs for the slave communication device which was the subject of the terminating control delegation.

44. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to claim 42 or 43, characterized in that said transmission/reception means of said master communication device or said slave communication device is controlled to be in a state in which at least output of a radio signal for location registration is prohibited during turn-off of said transmission/reception means.

45. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to claim 44, characterized in that said transmission/reception means of said master communication device or said slave communication device is controlled to be in a state in which power supply to said transmission/reception means is prohibited during turn-off of said transmission/reception means.

46. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 43 to 45, characterized in that switching to said second state is started in said first state on the basis of a determination result by said control means of said master communication device about occurrence of said terminating control delegation reason, and switching to said first state is started in said second state on the basis of a determination result by said control means of the slave communication device which received control delegation about occurrence of said control delegation completion reason.

47. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 42 to 46, characterized in that each of the electronic apparatuses in the network holds identifying information for identifying itself or others and includes the identifying information of itself as originating information and identifying information of a transmission destination as destination information in a radio signal to be transmitted by said short-range wireless communication means.

48. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 42 to 47, characterized in that each of the short-range wireless communication means is controlled to function as transmission/reception means of at least a status signal indicating a turn-on or turn-off state in said transmission/reception means of that device.

49. The control-program for a wireless LAN system according to claim 48, characterized in that each of the short-range wireless communication means is controlled to function as transmission/reception means of a status signal indicating the state of that device.

50. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 42 to 49, characterized in that each of the transmission/reception means is controlled such that said transmission/reception means of the slave communication device which received said terminating control delegation is turned on after waiting until said transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned off at the time of switching from said first state to said second state, and said transmission/reception means of said master communication device is turned on after waiting until said transmission/reception means of the slave communication device which received said terminating control delegation is turned off at the time of switching from said second state to said first state.

51. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 42 to 50, characterized in that, when wireless telephone communication is performed between said master communication device and a telephone apparatus outside the network in said first state and if said transmission/reception means of said master communication device receives a signal for specifying any slave communication device transmitted from said telephone apparatus, switching to said second state is performed assuming that said terminating control delegation reason occurs.

52. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 42 to 51, characterized in that said master communication device has operation input means for a user to operate, and when wireless telephone communication is performed between said master communication device and a telephone apparatus outside the network in said first state and if operation input is performed on said operation input means for specifying any slave communication device, switching to said second state is performed assuming that said terminating control delegation reason occurs.

53. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 43 to 52, characterized in that, when the slave communication device which received terminating control delegation performs communication by said transmission/reception means with a telephone apparatus outside the network in said second state and if the communication with that telephone apparatus is completed, switching to said first state is performed assuming that the control delegation completion reason occurs.

54. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 42 to 53, characterized in that when the slave communication device which received terminating control delegation does not perform telephone communication by said transmission/reception means with a telephone apparatus outside the network in a predetermined time period in said second state, switching to said first state is performed assuming that the control delegation completion reason occurs.

55. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 42 to 54, characterized in that at least an instruction permitting use of an ID of said wireless telephone line to turn on said transmission/reception means is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

56. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to claim 55, characterized in that a signal including destination information on the slave communication device to which control is to be delegated is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

57. The, control program for a wireless LAN system according to claim 55 or 56, characterized in that an instruction for prohibiting originating by said transmission/reception means is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

58. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 55 to 57, characterized in that telephone number information of a telephone device outside the network and an instruction for permitting terminating only of a call originated from that telephone apparatus are transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

59. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 55 to 58, characterized in that telephone number information of a telephone device outside the network and an instruction for permitting originating to that telephone apparatus are transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

60. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 55 to 59, characterized in that an ID for using said wireless telephone line is set only for said master communication device, and a signal including the ID of the wireless telephone line is transmitted as said terminating control delegation signal.

61. The control program for a wireless LAN system according to any of claims 42 to 59, characterized in that an ID for using said wireless telephone line is set for said master communication device and the respective slave communication devices.
