Abstract

A digital image storage system includes a digital camera having a memory capable of storing digital images and an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down for informing the adapter of the digital images in the memory. The digital image storage system further includes a data storage having a storage medium that stores the digital images informed through the adapter. The data storage includes a function unit that controls the digital image storage so that the informed digital images are stored in a predetermined folder prepared in the storage medium.

Claims

1. A digital image storage system comprising:

a digital camera having a memory capable of storing digital images;

an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down for informing the adapter of the digital images in the memory; and

a data storage having a storage medium that stores the digital images informed through the adapter, wherein the data storage includes a function unit that controls the digital image storage so that the informed digital images are stored in a predetermined folder prepared in the storage medium.

2. The digital image storage system according to claim 1, wherein the function unit is designed to automatically prepare a subfolder within the predetermined folder in advance of the digital image storage and to store the informed digital images in the subfolder.

3. The digital image storage system according to claim 2, wherein the function unit is further designed to give the subfolder a name relating to date when preparing the subfolder.

4. A digital image storage system comprising:

a digital camera having a memory capable of storing digital images;

an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down for informing the adapter of the digital images in the memory; and

a data storage having a storage medium that stores the digital images informed through the adapter, wherein the data storage includes a function unit designed to automatically prepare a folder in the storage medium in advance of the digital image storage and to store the informed digital images in the prepared folder.

5. The digital image storage system according to claim 4, wherein the function unit is further designed to give the folder a name relating to date when preparing the folder.

6. A digital image storage capable of being informed of digital images from a digital camera through an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down comprising:

a storage medium that stores the digital images informed through the adapter; and

a function unit that carries out a program to store the informed digital images in a predetermined folder prepared in the storage medium.

7. The digital image storage according to claim 6, wherein a plurality of folders are prepared in the storage medium, and the function unit is designed to store the informed digital images in a predetermined one of the prepared folders.

8. A digital image storage capable of being informed of digital images from a digital camera through an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down comprising:

a storage medium that stores the digital images informed through the adapter; and

a function unit that carries out a program to automatically prepare a folder in the storage medium in advance of the digital image storage and to store the informed digital images in the prepared folder.

9. The digital image storage according to claim 8, wherein the function unit includes a detector that detects a signal from the adapter, and wherein the function unit is designed to automatically prepare the folder in response to the signal.

10. The digital image storage according to claim 8, wherein the function unit includes a detector that detects a signal to cause the digital image storage, and wherein the function unit is designed to automatically prepare the folder in response to the signal.

11. The digital image storage according to claim 8, wherein the function unit is further designed to give the folder a name relating to date when preparing the folder.
