Abstract

When the genetic analysis is performed by using a DNA microarray, the inspection accuracy is improved. A sample solution is supplied onto a base plate to prepare the DNA microarray comprising a large number of spots based on the sample solution arranged on the base plate. In the microarray, the planar configuration of the spot is substantially circular, and a plurality of spots having different spot sizes are formed on the base plate.

Claims

1. A biochip, comprising:

a large number of spots containing a plurality of types of capture solutions arranged on a base plate by means of an ink jet system, said plurality of types of said capture solutions each being adapted to specifically react with a specimen and provide information about a structure within the specimen, wherein

each of said spots has a plurality of types of capture material, and said spots are formed at a same spot formation position.

2. A biochip according to claim 1, wherein said spots containing said capture solutions are impacted onto said base plate after being discharged into the atmosphere, and wherein a force of the discharge is controlled electrically.

3. A biochip according to claim 1, wherein said spots containing said capture solutions are impacted onto said base plate after being discharged into the atmosphere, and wherein the number of times of discharge at each spot and a force of the discharge are electrically controlled, respectively.

4. A biochip according to claim 1, wherein said base plate is non-permeable with respect to said capture solutions.

5. A biochip, comprising:

a large number of spots containing a plurality of types of capture solutions arranged on a base plate by means of an ink jet system, said plurality of types of capture solutions each being adapted to specifically react with a specimen and provide information about a structure within the specimen, wherein

each of said spots has a plurality of types of capture material, and a first layer of each spot comprises a ridged peripheral portion and a second layer of each spot is deposited on said first layer inside said ridged peripheral portion.

6. A biochip according to claim 5, wherein said spots containing said capture solutions are impacted onto said base plate after being discharged into the atmosphere, and wherein a force of the discharge is controlled electrically.

7. A biochip according to claim 5, wherein said spots containing said capture solutions are impacted onto said base plate after being discharged into the atmosphere, and wherein the number of times of discharge at each spot and a force of the discharge are electrically controlled, respectively.

8. A biochip according to claim 5, wherein said base plate is non-permeable with respect to said capture solutions.

9. A biochip, comprising:

a base plate having a plane defining an uppermost surface thereof;

a large number of spots containing capture solutions arranged on said uppermost surface, said spots being obtained by supplying onto said uppermost surface a plurality of types of said capture solutions using an ink jet system, each of said types of capture solutions being adapted to specifically react with a specimen and provide information about a structure within the specimen, wherein

a plurality of said spots having different spot sizes are formed on said uppermost surface of said base plate, and an uppermost surface of said biochip is defined by upper portions of said plurality of spots.

10. A biochip according to claim 9, wherein said spots containing said capture solutions are impacted onto said base plate after being discharged into the atmosphere, and wherein a force of the discharge is controlled electrically.

11. A biochip according to claim 9, wherein said spots containing said capture solutions are impacted onto said base plate after being discharged into the atmosphere, and wherein the number of times of discharge at each spot and a force of the discharge are electrically controlled, respectively.

12. A biochip according to claim 9, wherein said base plate is non-permeable with respect to said capture solutions.
