Abstract

The object of the present invention is to provide a cellular phone to be used for emergency reports that performs GPS positioning by means of remote control from an emergency report center, and transmits positional information to the emergency report center. The emergency report cellular phone according to the present invention is constituted such that when an emergency report switch thereof is depressed, a call request is made to the emergency report center. The emergency report center transmits a response signal with the result that a call link is formed between the emergency report cellular phone and the emergency report center. Following completion of the telephone call, the emergency report center transmits a position recalculation command message, by means of a DTMF signal. The emergency report cellular phone, which has received this command message, performs GPS positioning and then converts latitudinal and longitudinal information to a DTMF signal before transmitting same to the emergency report center. As a result, even in a case where, in a time of emergency, a reporting party is unable to perform GPS positioning manually as a result of a poor physical condition, for example, since GPS positioning is possible by means of remote control, it is possible to rescue the reporting party in a rapid and reliable manner.

Claims

1. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a wireless receiving section, which receives a position recalculation request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

a DTMF decoder, which decodes the DTMF signal thus received by said wireless receiving section;

a system controller, which parses the position recalculation request command message thus decoded by said DTMF decoder;

a GPS receiver, which, in response to a request from said system controller, performs GPS positioning to acquire positional information;

a DTMF encoder, which converts said positional information into a DTMF signal; and

a wireless transmitting section, which transmits the positional information thus converted into a DTMF signal by means of said DTMF encoder to the emergency report center via an analog wireless line.

2. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a wireless receiving section, which receives a siren speaker activation request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

a DTMF decoder, which decodes the DTMF signal thus received by said receiving section;

a system controller, which parses the siren speaker activation request command message thus decoded by said DTMF decoder; and

a siren speaker, which, in response to a command from said system controller, outputs a predetermined sound signal.

3. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 2, further comprising:

a microphone and a speaker, which are employed for a telephone call with the emergency report center and which implement a speaker phone function,

wherein said system controller intermittently drives said siren speaker, and, when the output of the siren speaker is OFF, is constituted such that a reporting party is capable of interacting with the emergency report center via said microphone and speaker.

4. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a wireless receiving section, which receives a speaker phone activation request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

a DTMF decoder, which decodes the DTMF signal thus received by said receiving section;

a system controller, which parses the speaker phone activation request command message thus decoded by said DTMF decoder; and

a speaker phone, which, by means of an ON operation in response to a request from said system controller, enables a reporting party to interact with the emergency report center.

5. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a wireless receiving section, which receives a mobile state request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

a microphone and a speaker, which are employed for interaction with the emergency report center and which implement a speaker phone function;

a power source circuit, which converts electric power supplied by a battery into a predetermined operating voltage;

a DTMF decoder, which decodes the DTMF signal thus received by said receiving section;

a system controller, which parses the mobile state request command message thus decoded by said DTMF decoder to determine at least one of the residual battery capacity, the received electromagnetic wave strength of said wireless receiving section, and the state of said microphone and/or speaker;

a DTMF encoder, which converts the information in relation to the states of the device thus determined by said system controller into a DTMF signal; and

a wireless transmitting section, which transmits the information in relation to the state of a device thus converted into a DTMF signal by means of said DTMF encoder to the emergency report center via an analog wireless line.

6. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a microphone and a speaker, which are employed for interaction with an emergency report center and which implement a speaker phone function;

a siren for notification of a state of emergency;

a drive section, which, so that a reporting party interacts with the emergency report center by means of said speaker phone function, intermittently drives the siren; and

a wireless communications section, which, when the siren function of said siren is ON, and at a time when said siren is not being driven, performs data communications with the emergency report center via an analog wireless line.

7. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a system controller containing a siren intermittent drive section for intermittently driving a siren, and a communications enable signal generating section, which, on the basis of an intermittent siren drive signal, outputs a communications enable signal;

a memory, which stores information for connections;

a cellular transceiver section, which connects to a cellular system to transmit and receive data and/or voice signals;

a voice processing section, which contains a DTMF encoder for data communications and which is for voice communications with the emergency report center via said cellular system;

a DTMF decoder, which decodes DTMF signals transmitted from the emergency report center and then outputs the decoded result to said system controller;

a speaker and a microphone, which are connected with said voice processing section; and

a siren, which is driven by the intermittent siren drive signal and which performs notification of a state of emergency to the surrounding area;

wherein, even in a state in which the siren function is ON on the basis of said communications enable signal, said emergency report cellular phone performs data communications at a time when said siren is not being driven.

8. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 7, wherein said communications enable signal generating section outputs said communications enable signal by inverting the logic of the siren drive signal.

The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 7, wherein an edge of said communications enable signal indicating a communications enabled state is delayed from an edge of the siren drive signal indicating drive OFF by a period from stoppage of said siren until the power supply voltage of the device returns to normal.

The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 7, wherein, when said communications enable signal generating section generates said communications enable signal, an edge of said communications enable signal indicating a communications disabled state is substantially synchronous with an edge of the siren drive signal indicating drive ON.

11. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a system controller, which contains a connection system switching section for connecting to a plurality of cellular systems;

a memory, which stores information for connections;

a cellular transceiver section, which connects to a cellular system to transmit and receive data and/or voice signals;

a voice processing section, which contains a DTMF encoder for data communications by means of DTMF signals, and which is for voice communications with an emergency report center via said cellular systems;

a DTMF decoder, which decodes DTMF signals transmitted from said emergency report center and then outputs the decoded result to said system controller;

a microphone and a speaker, which are connected with said voice processing section;

a siren, which performs notification of a state of emergency; and

a timer for judging processing time out,

wherein said memory stores system A connection information, system B connection information, and a maximum connection frequency, and

said connection system switching section uses a system A and a system B on the basis of the content of said memory and the output of said timer and following a predetermined procedure such that while the connection system switching section performs connection processing with respect to a preset first telephone number, when connection with respect to said first telephone number is not possible, same performs connection processing with respect to a preset second telephone number.

12. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 11,

wherein said connection system switching section sets systems for connection as preset systems;

on the basis of the system A connection information or system B connection information stored in said memory, connects to said first telephone number or said second telephone number;

activates said timer;

according to whether a user identification request signal is received, judges whether or not a connection has been established;

on the basis of the output of said timer, judges whether or not time out is effected; and

,

when the time out judgement frequency is no more than the maximum connection frequency stored in said memory, switches the system for connection, and once more repeats the connection with respect to said first telephone number or said second telephone number.

13. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 11,

wherein said connection system switching section sets systems for connection as preset systems;

on the basis of the system A connection information or said system B connection information stored in said memory, connects to said first telephone number or said second telephone number;

sets a start channel of a control channel search;

judges whether or not connection is possible in accordance with the existence or non-existence of a control channel;

judges whether or not a final channel of a control channel search has been reached; and

,

when the frequency of judging whether or not the final channel has been reached is no more than the maximum connection frequency stored in said memory, switches the system for connection, and once more repeats the connection with respect to said first telephone number or said second telephone number.

14. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 11,

wherein said connection system switching section sets systems for connection as preset systems;

on the basis of the system A connection information or said system B connection information stored in said memory, connects to said first telephone number or said second telephone number;

activates said timer;

according to whether or not origination is successful, judges whether or not a connection has been established;

on the basis of the output of said timer, judges whether or not time out is effected; and

,

when said time out judgement frequency is no more than the maximum connection frequency stored in said memory, switches the system for connection, and once more repeats the connection with respect to said first telephone number or said second telephone number.

15. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a system controller, which contains a connection system switching section for connecting to a plurality of cellular systems;

a memory, which stores information for connections;

a cellular transceiver section, which connects to a cellular system to transmit and receive data and/or voice signals;

a voice processing section, which contains a DTMF encoder for data communications by means of DTMF signals, and which is for voice communications with the emergency report center via said cellular systems;

a DTMF decoder, which decodes DTMF signals transmitted from said emergency report center and then outputs the decoded result to said system controller;

a microphone and a speaker, which are connected with said voice processing section; and

a siren, which performs notification of a state of emergency,

wherein, in a case where a wireless line connected with an emergency report center is disconnected as a result of a communications error, said connection system switching section automatically performs connection with respect to an emergency report center.

16. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a system controller, which contains a connection system switching section for connecting to a plurality of cellular systems;

a memory, which stores information for connections;

a cellular transceiver section, which connects to a cellular system to transmit and receive data and/or voice signals;

a voice processing section, which contains a DTMF encoder for data communications by means of DTMF signals, and which is for voice communications with the emergency report center via said cellular systems;

a DTMF decoder, which decodes DTMF signals transmitted from said emergency report center and then outputs the decoded result to said system controller;

a microphone and a speaker, which are connected with said voice processing section; and

a siren, which performs notification of a state of emergency,

wherein, in a case where a DTMF signal is received from the emergency report center, said voice processing section turns OFF the audio output of said speaker.

17. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a system controller, which contains a connection system switching section for connecting to a plurality of cellular systems;

a memory, which stores information for connections;

a cellular transceiver section, which connects to a cellular system to transmit and receive data and/or voice signals;

a microphone and a speaker, which are for making a voice call with an emergency report center;

a voice processing section, which contains a gain controller that adjusts the gain of said microphone and speaker; and

a siren, which performs notification of a state of emergency,

wherein said system controller issues a command to the gain controller to adjust the optimum value of a speaker audio output level and/or of microphone sensitivity suited to a connection party, and,

said gain controller, in accordance with said command, sets the speaker audio output level and/or microphone sensitivity to an optimum value.

18. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a storage section, which stores satellite positional information for when GPS positioning was performed on a previous occasion;

a GPS positioning section, which captures satellites by referencing said satellite positional information to perform GPS positioning on the basis of GPS signals from satellites, and, in a case where GPS positioning is completed within a fixed period, which stores the latest satellite positional information in said storage section, and, in a case where GPS positioning is not completed within a fixed period, which restores the satellite positional information stored in said storage section to initial values; and

a wireless communications section, which connects to an emergency report center via a wireless line to make an emergency report and to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information for a positioning point to the emergency report center.

19. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 18, wherein said initial values are satellite positional information and the current time in the country where the emergency report cellular phone was sold.

20. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 18, wherein said wireless communications section connects a communications line with the emergency report center after said fixed time has elapsed to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information obtained by means of GPS positioning.

21. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 18, wherein said GPS positioning section performs GPS positioning on the basis of a GPS positioning instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, and stores satellite positional information for the time when said GPS positioning was performed in said storage section.

22. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 18, wherein the power source of said GPS positioning section and the power source of the wireless communications section are constituted so as to not be ON simultaneously.

23. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a storage section, which stores satellite positional information for when GPS positioning was performed on a previous occasion;

a GPS positioning section, which captures satellites by referencing said satellite positional information to perform GPS positioning on the basis of GPS signals from satellites, and, in a case where GPS positioning is completed within a fixed period, which stores the latest satellite positional information in said storage section, and, in a case where GPS positioning is not completed within a fixed period and when the number of satellites captured is three or more, which restores the satellite positional information stored in said storage section to initial values, and when the number of satellites captured is two or less, outputs non-positioning information; and

a wireless communications section, which connects to an emergency report center via a wireless line to make an emergency report and to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information for a positioning point to the emergency report center.

24. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 23, wherein said initial values are satellite positional information and the current time in the country where the emergency report cellular phone was sold.

25. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 23, wherein said wireless communications section connects a communications line with the emergency report center after said fixed time has elapsed to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information obtained by means of GPS positioning.

26. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 23, wherein said GPS positioning section performs GPS positioning on the basis of a GPS positioning instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, and stores satellite positional information for the time when said GPS positioning was performed in said storage section.

27. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 23, wherein the power source of said GPS positioning section and the power source of the wireless communications section are constituted so as to not be ON simultaneously.

28. An emergency report cellular phone, comprising:

a storage section, which stores satellite positional information for when GPS positioning was performed on a previous occasion;

a GPS positioning section, which captures satellites by referencing said satellite positional information to perform GPS positioning on the basis of GPS signals from satellites, and, in a case where GPS positioning is completed within a fixed period, which stores the latest satellite positional information in said storage section, and, in a case where GPS positioning is not completed within a fixed period and when the number of satellites captured is four or more, is reactivated, and when the number of satellites captured is three or less, which restores the satellite positional information stored in said storage section to initial values; and

a wireless communications section, which connects to an emergency report center via a wireless line to make an emergency report and to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information for a positioning point to the emergency report center.

29. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 28, wherein said initial values are satellite positional information and the current time in the country where the emergency report cellular phone was sold.

30. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 28, wherein said wireless communications section connects a communications line with the emergency report center after said fixed time has elapsed to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information obtained by means of GPS positioning.

31. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 28, wherein said GPS positioning section performs GPS positioning on the basis of a GPS positioning instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, and stores satellite positional information for this time in said storage section.

32. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 28, wherein the power source of said GPS positioning section and the power source of the wireless communications section are constituted so as to not be ON simultaneously.

33. An emergency report cellular phone equipped with a GPS receiver that receives GPS signals from satellites to calculate degrees longitude and latitude for a positioning point, and a wireless communications section that transmits longitudinal and latitudinal information outputted from said GPS receiver to an emergency report center via a wireless line, comprising:

a warning section, which, on the basis of a instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, checks whether or not data communications between said GPS receiver and the wireless communications section are normal, and, in a case where said data communications are normal, also checks whether or not the GPS receiver is capable of completing GPS positioning within a fixed period, and, in a case where said data communications are not normal or said GPS positioning cannot be completed within a fixed period, issues a warning to that effect.

34. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 33, further comprising a warning section which, on the basis of an instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, checks the residual battery capacity, and, when the residual battery capacity is limited, issues a warning to that effect.

35. The emergency report cellular phone according to claim 33, further comprising a warning section which, on the basis of a instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, checks the received electromagnetic wave strength of said wireless communications section, and, when the received electromagnetic wave strength is weak, issues a warning to that effect.

36. A method of transmitting positional information on the emergency report cellular phone to an emergency report center, comprising the steps of:

receiving a position recalculation request command message which has been sent from the emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

decoding the DTMF signal thus received and parsing the command type;

in response to said position recalculation request command message, driving the GPS receiver and performing GPS positioning to acquire positional information;

converting said positional information into a DTMF signal; and

transmitting said positional information thus converted into said DTMF signal to the emergency report center via an analog wireless line.

37. A method of driving a siren speaker provided in an emergency report cellular phone, comprising the steps of:

receiving a siren speaker activation request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

decoding the DTMF signal thus received and parsing the command type; and

in response to said siren speaker activation request command message, driving a siren speaker.

38. A method of driving a siren speaker provided in an emergency report cellular phone, comprising the steps of:

receiving a siren speaker activation request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

decoding the DTMF signal thus received and parsing the command type; and

in response to said siren speaker activation request command message, intermittently driving the siren speaker, and, when the output of the siren speaker is OFF, enabling a reporting party to interact with the emergency report center via said microphone and speaker.

39. A method of driving a speaker phone provided in an emergency report cellular phone, comprising the steps of:

receiving a speaker phone activation request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

decoding the DTMF signal thus received and parsing the command type; and

in response to said speaker phone activation request command message, performing an operation to turn the speaker phone ON/OFF.

40. A method of transmitting information in relation to a state of an emergency report cellular phone, comprising the steps of:

receiving a mobile state request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

decoding the DTMF signal thus received and parsing the command type;

in response to said mobile state request command message, determining at least one of the residual battery capacity, the received electromagnetic wave strength, and the state of the microphone and/or speaker, of the emergency report cellular phone;

converting the information in relation to the state of the emergency report cellular phone into a DTMF signal; and

transmitting the information in relation to the state of the emergency report cellular phone thus converted into a DTMF signal to the emergency report center via an analog wireless line.

41. A method of performing data communications for an emergency report cellular phone equipped with a siren function, comprising the steps of:

judging whether or not the siren function is ON;

when the siren function is ON, repeatedly switching between ON/OFF of a siren at predetermined intervals; and

transmitting and receiving data while said siren is OFF.

42. A method of performing data communications for an emergency report cellular phone equipped with a siren function, comprising the steps of:

judging whether or not the siren function is ON;

when the siren function is ON, repeatedly switching between ON/OFF of a siren at predetermined intervals;

on the basis of a siren intermittent signal, generating a communications enable signal; and

on the basis of said communications enable signal, transmitting and receiving data.

43. The method according to claim 42, wherein said communications enable signal is a signal for which the logic of the siren drive signal is reversed.

44. The method according to claim 42, wherein an edge of said communications enable signal indicating a communications enabled state is delayed from an edge of the siren drive signal indicating drive OFF by a period from stoppage of said siren until the power supply voltage of the device returns to normal.

45. The method according to claim 42, wherein an edge of said communications enable signal indicating a communications disabled state is substantially synchronous with an edge of the siren drive signal indicating drive ON.

46. A cellular connection switching method for an emergency report cellular phone, which is capable of a connection with respect to a plurality of cellular systems, and which performs processing for a connection with anyone of these systems, comprising:

a first telephone number connection processing step, which performs connection processing with respect to a preset first telephone number; and

when connection is not possible with respect to said first telephone number, a second telephone number connection processing step, which performs connection processing with respect to a preset second telephone number;

wherein said first telephone number connection processing step comprises the steps of;

setting a system for connection as a preset system;

performing a connection with respect to said first telephone number in accordance with the preset system;

activating a timer;

judging whether or not a connection has been established on the basis of predetermined conditions;

judging whether or not time out is effected; and

,

when the reconnection frequency is no more than a predetermined frequency, switching the system for connection and repeating once more the connection with respect to the first telephone number; and

wherein said second telephone number connection processing step comprises the steps of;

setting a system for connection as a preset system;

performing a connection with respect to said second telephone number in accordance with the preset system;

activating a timer;

judging whether or not a connection has been established on the basis of predetermined conditions;

judging whether or not time out is effected; and

,

when the reconnection frequency is no more than a predetermined frequency, switching the system for connection and repeating once more the connection with respect to the second telephone number.

47. The method according to claim 46, wherein, in at least either of said first telephone number connection processing step and said second telephone number connection processing step, it is judged whether a cellular connection has been established according to whether a user identification request signal is received.

48. The method according to claim 46, wherein, in at least either of said first telephone number connection processing step and said second telephone number connection processing step, it is judged whether a cellular connection has been established according to whether or not origination is successful.

49. A cellular connection switching method for an emergency report cellular phone, which is capable of a connection with respect to a plurality of cellular systems, and which performs processing for a connection with anyone of these systems, comprising:

a first telephone number connection processing step, which performs connection processing with respect to a preset first telephone number; and

when connection is not possible with respect to said first telephone number, a second telephone number connection processing step, which performs connection processing with respect to a preset second telephone number;

wherein said first telephone number connection processing step comprises the steps of;

setting a system for connection as a preset system;

performing a connection with respect to said first telephone number in accordance with the preset system;

setting a start channel of a control channel search;

judging whether or not connection has been established in accordance with the existence or non-existence of a control channel;

judging whether or not a final channel of a control channel search has been reached; and

,

when the frequency of judging whether or not the final channel has been reached is no more than a predetermined frequency, switching the system for connection and once more repeating the connection with respect to the first telephone number; and

wherein said second telephone number connection processing step comprises the steps of;

setting a system for connection as a preset system;

performing a connection with respect to said second telephone number in accordance with the preset system;

setting a start channel of a control channel search;

judging whether or not connection has been established in accordance with the existence or non-existence of a control channel;

judging whether or not a final channel of a control channel search has been reached; and

,

when the frequency of judging whether or not the final channel has been reached is no more than a predetermined frequency, switching the system for connection and once more repeating the connection with respect to the second telephone number.

50. A cellular connection method for a connection with a cellular system via a wireless line and for performing voice signal and/or data communications, comprising the steps of:

judging whether or not a wireless line connected with an emergency report center has been disconnected as a result of a communications error; and

,

in a case where said wireless line has been disconnected as a result of a communications error, automatically performing a connection with respect to an emergency report center.

51. A method for a connection with a cellular system via a wireless line and for performing data communications by means of DTMF signals, comprising the steps of:

judging whether or not a DTMF signal has been received from an emergency report center; and

,

in a case where a DTMF signal has been received from an emergency report center, turning the audio output of a speaker OFF.

52. A cellular connection method for a connection with a cellular system via a wireless line and for performing voice signal and/or data communications, comprising the steps of:

distinguishing a system for connection;

in accordance with the system for connection, issuing a command to a gain controller to set a speaker audio output level and/or microphone sensitivity to an optimum value; and

,

by means of the gain controller which has received said command, setting the speaker audio output level and/or microphone sensitivity to an optimum value.

53. A method by which an emergency report cellular phone equipped with a GPS receiver performs GPS positioning, comprising the steps of:

storing satellite positional information for when GPS positioning was performed on a previous occasion;

capturing satellites by referencing said satellite positional information to perform GPS positioning on the basis of GPS signals from satellites, and, in a case where GPS positioning is completed within a fixed period, storing the latest satellite positional information in said storage section, and, in a case where GPS positioning is not completed within a fixed period, restoring the satellite positional information stored in said storage section to initial values; and

connecting to an emergency report center via a wireless line to make an emergency report and to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information for a positioning point to the emergency report center.

54. The method according to claim 53, wherein said initial values are satellite positional information and the current time in the country where the emergency report cellular phone was sold.

55. The method according to claim 53, wherein said method connects a communications line with the emergency report center after said fixed time has elapsed to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information obtained by means of GPS positioning.

56. The method according to claim 53, wherein said method performs GPS positioning on the basis of a GPS positioning instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, and stores satellite positional information for this time when said GPS positioning was performed in said storage section.

57. A method by which an emergency report cellular phone equipped with a GPS receiver performs GPS positioning, comprising the steps of:

storing satellite positional information for when GPS positioning was performed on a previous occasion;

capturing satellites by referencing said satellite positional information to perform GPS positioning on the basis of GPS signals from satellites, and, in a case where GPS positioning is completed within a fixed period, storing the latest satellite positional information in said storage section, and, in a case where GPS positioning is not completed within a fixed period and when the number of satellites captured is three or more, restoring the satellite positional information stored in said storage section to initial values, and when the number of satellites captured is two or less, outputting non-positioning information; and

connecting to an emergency report center via a wireless line to make an emergency report and to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information for a positioning point to the emergency report center.

58. The method according to claim 57, wherein said initial values are satellite positional information and the current time in the country where the emergency report cellular phone was sold.

59. The method according to claim 57, wherein said method connects a communications line with the emergency report center after said fixed time has elapsed to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information obtained by means of GPS positioning.

60. The method according to claim 57, wherein said method performs GPS positioning on the basis of a GPS positioning instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, and stores satellite positional information for this time when said GPS positioning was performed in said storage section.

61. A method by which an emergency report cellular phone equipped with a GPS receiver performs GPS positioning, comprising the steps of:

storing satellite positional information for when GPS positioning was performed on a previous occasion;

capturing satellites by referencing said satellite positional information to perform GPS positioning on the basis of GPS signals from satellites, and, in a case where GPS positioning is completed within a fixed period, storing the latest satellite positional information in said storage section, and, in a case where GPS positioning is not completed within a fixed period and when the number of satellites captured is four or more, reactivating a GPS positioning section, and when the number of satellites captured is three or less, restoring the satellite positional information stored in said storage section to initial values; and

connecting to an emergency report center via a wireless line to make an emergency report and to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information for a positioning point to the emergency report center.

62. The method according to claim 61, wherein said initial values are satellite positional information and the current time in the country where the emergency report cellular phone was sold.

63. The method according to claim 61, wherein said method connects a communications line with the emergency report center after said fixed time has elapsed to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information obtained by means of GPS positioning.

64. The method according to claim 61, wherein said method performs GPS positioning on the basis of a GPS positioning instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, and stores satellite positional information for this time when said GPS positioning was performed in said storage section.

65. A method for checking the GPS positioning function of an emergency report cellular phone equipped with a GPS receiver, comprising the steps of:

on the basis of an instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, checking whether or not data communications between said GPS receiver and the wireless communications section are normal;

in a case where said data communications are normal, also checking whether or not the GPS receiver is capable of completing GPS positioning within a fixed period; and

,

in a case where said data communications are not normal or said GPS positioning cannot be completed within a fixed period, issuing a warning to that effect.

66. The method according to claim 65, wherein said method checks the residual battery capacity on the basis of an instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, and, when the residual battery capacity is limited, issues a warning to that effect.

67. The method according to claim 65, wherein, on the basis of an instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, checks the received electromagnetic wave strength, and, when the received electromagnetic wave strength is weak, issues a warning to that effect.

68. A computer program product, for which a program for causing positional information on an emergency report cellular phone to be transmitted to an emergency report center is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium, wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

receiving a position recalculation request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

decoding the DTMF signal thus received and parsing the command type;

in response to said position recalculation request command message, driving a GPS receiver and performing GPS positioning to acquire positional information;

converting said positional information into a DTMF signal; and

transmitting said positional information thus converted into said DTMF signal to the emergency report center via an analog wireless line.

69. A computer program product, for which a program for causing a siren speaker provided in an emergency report cellular phone to be driven is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium, wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

receiving a siren speaker activation request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

decoding the DTMF signal thus received and parsing the command type; and

in response to said siren speaker activation request command message, driving the siren speaker.

70. A computer program product, for which a program for causing a siren speaker provided in an emergency report cellular phone to be driven is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium, wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

receiving a siren speaker activation request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

decoding the DTMF signal thus received and parsing the command type; and

,

in response to said siren speaker activation request command message, intermittently driving the siren speaker, and, when the output of the siren speaker is OFF, enabling a reporting party to interact with the emergency report center via said microphone and speaker.

71. A computer program product, for which a program for driving a speaker phone provided in an emergency report cellular phone is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium, wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

receiving a speaker phone activation request command message which has been sent from an emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

decoding the DTMF signal thus received and parsing the command type; and

,

in response to said speaker phone activation request command message, performing an operation to turn the speaker phone ON/OFF.

72. A computer program product, for which a program for transmitting information in relation to a state of an emergency report cellular phone to an emergency report center is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium, wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

receiving a mobile state request command message which has been sent from the emergency report center via an analog wireless line and converted into a DTMF signal;

decoding the DTMF signal thus received and parsing the command type;

in response to said mobile state request command message, determining at least one of the residual battery capacity, the received electromagnetic wave strength, and the state of the microphone and/or speaker, of the emergency report cellular phone;

converting the information in relation to the state of the emergency report cellular phone into a DTMF signal; and

transmitting the information in relation to the state of the emergency report cellular phone thus converted into a DTMF signal to the emergency report center via an analog wireless line.

73. A computer program product, for which a program for executing data communications for an emergency report cellular phone equipped with a siren function is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium, wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

judging whether or not the siren function is ON;

when the siren function is ON, repeatedly switching between ON/OFF of a siren at predetermined intervals; and

transmitting and receiving data while said siren is OFF.

74. A computer program product, for which a program for executing data communications for an emergency report cellular phone equipped with a siren function is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium, wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

judging whether or not the siren function is ON;

when the siren function is ON, repeatedly switching between ON/OFF of a siren at predetermined intervals;

on the basis of a siren intermittent signal, generating a communications enable signal; and

on the basis of said communications enable signal, transmitting and receiving data.

75. The computer program product according to claim 74, wherein said communications enable signal is a signal for which the logic of the siren drive signal is reversed.

76. The computer program product according to claim 74, wherein an edge of said communications enable signal indicating a communications enabled state is delayed from an edge of the siren drive signal indicating drive OFF by a period from stoppage of said siren until the power supply voltage of the device returns to normal.

77. The computer program product according to claim 74, wherein an edge of said communications enable signal indicating a communications disabled state is substantially synchronous with an edge of the siren drive signal indicating drive ON.

78. A computer program product, for which a program is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium, said program being for performing cellular connection switching for an emergency report cellular phone through the execution of a first telephone number connection processing step which performs connection processing with respect to a preset first telephone number;

and, when connection is not possible with respect to said first telephone number, a second telephone number connection processing step, which performs connection processing with respect to a preset second telephone number,

wherein said first telephone number connection processing step comprises the steps of;

setting a system for connection as a preset system;

performing a connection with respect to said first telephone number in accordance with the preset system;

activating a timer;

judging whether or not a connection has been established on the basis of predetermined conditions;

judging whether or not time out is effected; and

,

when the reconnection frequency is no more than a predetermined frequency, switching the system for connection and repeating once more the connection with respect to the first telephone number; and

wherein said second telephone number connection processing step comprises the steps of;

setting a system for connection as a preset system;

performing a connection with respect to said second telephone number in accordance with the preset system;

activating a timer;

judging whether or not a connection has been established on the basis of predetermined conditions;

judging whether or not time out is effected; and

,

when the reconnection frequency is no more than a predetermined frequency, switching the system for connection and repeating once more the connection with respect to the second telephone number.

The computer program product according to claim 78, wherein, in at least either of said first telephone number connection processing step and said second telephone number connection processing step, it is judged whether a cellular connection has been established according to whether a user identification request signal is received.

The computer program product according to claim 78, wherein, in at least either of said first telephone number connection processing step and said second telephone number connection processing step, it is judged whether a cellular connection has been established according to whether or not origination is successful.

81. A computer program product, which is for performing cellular connection switching for an emergency report cellular phone through the execution of a first telephone number connection processing step, which performs connection processing with respect to a preset first telephone number;

and, when connection is not possible with respect to said first telephone number, a second telephone number connection processing step, which performs connection processing with respect to a preset second telephone number,

wherein said first telephone number connection processing step comprises the steps of;

setting a system for connection as a preset system;

performing a connection with respect to said first telephone number in accordance with the preset system;

setting a start channel of a control channel search;

judging whether or not connection has been established in accordance with the existence or non-existence of a control channel;

judging whether or not a final channel of a control channel search has been reached; and

,

when the frequency of judging whether or not the final channel has been reached is no more than a predetermined frequency, switching the system for connection and once more repeating the connection with respect to the first telephone number; and

wherein said second telephone number connection processing step comprises the steps of;

setting a system for connection as a preset system;

performing a connection with respect to said second telephone number in accordance with the preset system;

setting a start channel of a control channel search;

judging whether or not connection has been established in accordance with the existence or non-existence of a control channel;

judging whether or not a final channel of a control channel search has been reached; and

,

when the frequency of judging whether or not the final channel has been reached is no more than a predetermined frequency, switching the system for connection and once more repeating the connection with respect to the second telephone number.

judging whether or not a wireless line connected with an emergency report center is disconnected as a result of a communications error; and

in a case where said wireless line is disconnected as a result of a communications error, automatically performing a connection with respect to the emergency report center.

83. A computer program product, for which a program for executing data communications by means of DTMF signals is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium,

wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

judging whether or not a DTMF signal has been received from an emergency report center; and

,

in a case where a DTMF signal has been received from the emergency report center, turning OFF the audio output of a speaker.

84. A computer program product, for which a program for executing cellular phone data communications is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium,

wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

distinguishing a system for connection;

issuing a command to a gain controller to set a speaker audio output level and/or microphone sensitivity to an optimum value, in accordance with the system for connection; and

setting the speaker audio output level and/or microphone sensitivity to an optimum value by means of the gain controller which has received said command.

85. A computer program product, for which a program for executing GPS positioning processing for a cellular phone is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium,

wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

storing satellite positional information for when GPS positioning was performed on a previous occasion;

capturing satellites by referencing said satellite positional information to perform GPS positioning on the basis of GPS signals from satellites, and, in a case where GPS positioning is completed within a fixed period, storing the latest satellite positional information in said storage section, and, in a case where GPS positioning is not completed within a fixed period, restoring the satellite positional information stored in said storage section to initial values; and

connecting to an emergency report center via a wireless line to make an emergency report and to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information for a positioning point to the emergency report center.

86. The computer program product according to claim 85, wherein said initial values are satellite positional information and the current time in the country where the emergency report cellular phone was sold.

The computer program product according to claim 85, wherein said computer program product comprises a step of connecting a communications line with the emergency report center after said fixed time has elapsed to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information obtained by means of GPS positioning.

performing GPS positioning on the basis of a GPS positioning instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made; and

89. A computer program product, for which a program for executing GPS positioning processing for an emergency report cellular phone is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium,

wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

storing satellite positional information for when GPS positioning was performed on a previous occasion;

capturing satellites by referencing said satellite positional information to perform GPS positioning on the basis of GPS signals from satellites, and, in a case where GPS positioning is completed within a fixed period, storing the latest satellite positional information in said storage section, and, in a case where GPS positioning is not completed within a fixed period and when the number of satellites captured is three or more, restoring the satellite positional information stored in said storage section to initial values, and when the number of satellites captured is two or less, outputting non-positioning information; and

connecting to an emergency report center via a wireless line to make an emergency report and to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information for a positioning point to the emergency report center.

wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

capturing satellites by referencing said satellite positional information to perform GPS positioning on the basis of GPS signals from satellites, and, in a case where GPS positioning is completed within a fixed period, storing the latest satellite positional information in said storage section, and, in a case where GPS positioning is not completed within a fixed period and when the number of satellites captured is four or more, reactivating a GPS positioning section, and when the number of satellites captured is three or less, restoring the satellite positional information stored in said storage section to initial values; and

connecting to an emergency report center via a wireless line to make an emergency report and to transmit longitudinal and latitudinal information for a positioning point to the emergency report center.

97. A computer program product, for which a program for checking the GPS positioning capability of an emergency report cellular phone is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium,

wherein said computer program is for the execution of steps comprising:

on the basis of an instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, checking whether or not data communications between said GPS receiver and the wireless communications section are normal;

in a case where said data communications are normal, also checking whether or not the GPS receiver is capable of completing GPS positioning within a fixed period; and

,

in a case where said data communications are not normal or said GPS positioning cannot be completed within a fixed period, issuing a warning to that effect.

98. The computer program product according to claim 97, comprising a step of:

on the basis of an instruction optionally given by a user at a time other than when an emergency report is being made, checking the residual battery capacity, and, when the residual battery capacity is limited, issuing a warning to that effect.
