1. A transmitting apparatus for transmitting signals of a plurality of channels to a receiving apparatus, comprising:

outputting means for outputting infrared ray based on said signals supplied from said supplying means; and
light receiving means for receiving the infrared ray output from said receiving apparatus.

Abstract
The OD servers, encoders, NOD servers and CPUs supply voice data, character data and remote control data together with the control information. A transmitter modulates the control information and voice data, etc. by the QPSK modulation method. An infrared ray emitter outputs the modulated infrared ray depending on the modulated signal. A receiving apparatus reproduces acoustic signal from the modulated infrared ray and displays characters and also transmits the signal corresponding to the remote control data to the transmitting apparatus with the infrared ray. An infrared ray detector receives the modulated infrared ray output from the receiving apparatus. Thereby, with this system, the signal, required by the receiving side or suitable for the condition of the receiving side, supplied through many channels can be transmitted without any restriction on the wiring.

A transmitting system for transmitting signals of a plurality of channels to a receiving apparatus from a transmitting apparatus, wherein said transmitting apparatus is comprising supplying means for supplying said signals of a plurality of channels, first outputting means for outputting infrared ray based on said signal supplied from said supplying means and first light receiving means for receiving infrared ray output from said receiving apparatus;
- and said receiving apparatus is comprising second light receiving means for receiving infrared ray output from said first output means, demodulating means for demodulating signal output from said second light receiving means, selecting means for selecting said signal output from said demodulating means and second outputting means for outputting infrared ray to said transmitting apparatus depending on the signal output from said demodulating means.
