1. An electrosurgery apparatus comprising:
- an electrode carrier having a pointed configuration at a distal end;
at least one electrode on the electrode carrier;
a fluid flow path defined in the electrode carrier;
an alternating current source conductively connected to the electrode by way of a cable providing alternating current flow to said at least one electrode;
a temperature control device for the electrode and the electrode carrier; and
a fluid heater for heating the at least one electrode and the electrode carrier independent of the amplitude of the alternating current flowing through the at least one electrode.

Abstract
An electrode arrangement is provided having at least one electrode for insertion into a human or animal body for electrothermal treatment of the body. The electrode is situated on an electrode support and is connected to an alternating current source via a supply lead and to a temperature stabilizer device for influencing the effective temperature profile in a treatment area. The electrode support and the electrode, or electrodes, are constructed for direct insertion into body tissue, said insertion being channel forming. The temperature stabilizer device has a timed heating device.

16. A method for electrothermal treatment of a human or animal patient comprising:
-
providing an electrosurgery apparatus comprising, an electrode carrier having a pointed configuration at its distal end, at least one electrode on the electrode carrier, and a fluid flow path defined in the electrode carrier;
inserting the apparatus in an area of the patient to be treated such that the distal end is adjacent to a tissue in the area to be treated;
providing alternating current to the electrode for electrothemally treating the tissue; and
providing a fluid within the fluid flow path for controlling the temperature of the apparatus. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19, 20, 21)
