Abstract

The present invention relates to a lyric data managing method that records lyrics associated with recorded audio data in a file separated from audio data management information called RTR_AMG (Real Time Record Audio Management) allocated for reproduction control in a rewritable recording medium, and that searches for a lyric unit written in the separate file prior to reproducing recorded audio data. The present method records lyric data of audio data recorded on a rewritable recording medium in a file separated from management information for the recorded audio data, and records search information to point to respective lyric data in the management information. Thus, the size of the management information is not increased even though lyrics of more than 1,000 audio files are recorded on a rewritable disk. As a result, system requirement of a disk device is alleviated to manage recorded audio data.

Claims

1. A method of managing lyrics for audio data recorded on a rewritable recording medium, comprising the steps of:

(a) recording lyric data of audio data recorded on a rewritable recording medium in a file separated from management information for the recorded audio data; and

(b) recording search information in the management information to refer to the lyric data in the separate file.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein all lyric units related with all of audio data are recorded in the separate file, each lyric unit corresponding to an audio song being grouped in the separate file.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein each lyric unit includes information indicative of attribute of lyric data.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein said step (b) records the search information in a real time record audio management table and further changes information in original program chain information allocated in the management table.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein said search information includes an audio lyric unit search pointer that consists of start address and the size of an audio lyric unit recorded in the separate file.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein said audio lyric search pointer further includes attribute information indicative of attribute of an audio lyric unit.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein said search information includes an audio lyric unit search pointer number to index an audio lyric unit search pointer, the audio lyric unit search pointer number being in cell information allocated in the management table.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein cell type information allocated in the cell information includes information indicative of type of an audio lyric unit.

9. The method of claim 5, wherein said search information includes an audio lyric unit search pointer number to index an audio lyric unit search pointer, the audio lyric unit search pointer number being in program information allocated in the management table.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein program type information allocated in the program information includes information indicative of type of an audio lyric unit.

11. A method of reading lyrics for audio data recorded on a rewritable recording medium, comprising the steps of:

(a) reading management information for reproduction control of recorded audio data; and

(b) searching a file, separated from the management information, for lyric data based on the read management information.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein said step (a) comprises the sub-steps of:

(a1) reading out an audio lyric unit search pointer number from cell information allocated in original program chain information in a real time record audio management table containing information for reproduction control of the recorded audio data; and

(a2) specifying an audio lyric unit search pointer by the read pointer number, the audio lyric unit search pointer being in audio lyric file information allocated in the management table.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein said step (b) reads out start address of an audio lyric unit in the specified audio lyric unit search pointer, and searches the separate file for an audio lyric unit pointed by the read-out start address.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein said step (b) checks attribute information in the specified audio lyric unit search-pointer, and processes the found audio lyric unit adequately for the attribute information.

15. The method of claim 13, wherein said step (b) checks attribute information included in the found audio lyric unit, and processes the found audio lyric unit adequately for the attribute information.

16. The method of claim 11, wherein said step (a) comprises the sub-steps of:

(a1) reading out an audio lyric unit search pointer number from program information allocated in original program chain information in a real time record audio management table containing information for reproduction control of the recorded audio data; and

(a2) specifying an audio lyric unit search pointer by the read pointer number, the audio lyric unit search pointer being in audio lyric file information allocated in the management table.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein said step (b) reads out start address of an audio lyric unit in the specified audio lyric unit search pointer, and searches the separate file for an audio lyric unit pointed by the read-out start address.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein said step (b) checks attribute information in the specified audio lyric unit search pointer, and processes the found audio lyric unit adequately for the attribute information.

19. The method of claim 17, wherein said step (b) checks attribute information included in the found audio lyric unit, and processes the found audio lyric unit adequately for the attribute information.
