Abstract

Telecommunication system for bidirectional transmission of data and voice signals with a data network (2), which is connected via a satellite data transmission link (6, 5, 8) for bidirectional data signal transmission to at least one satellite device (7), which is connected to a 10 Base S switching device (14); a telephone network (25), which is connected via a number of subscriber telephone lines (23) for bidirectional voice signal transmission to the 10 Base S switching device (14); and with a number of 10 Base S subscriber modems (18), which are connected for bidirectional voice and data signal transmission to the 10 Base S switching device (14).

Claims

1. Telecommunication system for bidirectional transmission of data and voice signals with

a) a data network (2), which is connected via a satellite data transmission link (6, 5, 8) for bidirectional data signal transmission to at least one satellite device (7), which is connected to a 10 Base S switching device (14);

b) a telephone network (25), which is connected via a number of subscriber telephone lines (23) for bidirectional voice signal transmission to the 10 Base S switching device (14);

c) and with a number of 10 Base S subscriber modems (18), which are connected for bidirectional voice and data signal transmission to the 10 Base S switching device (14).

2. Telecommunication system according to claim 1, characterized in that a data terminal (20) for the data processing of the transmitted data signals [sic] and a telephone terminal (22) for the transmitted voice signal can be connected to each 10 Base S subscriber modem (18).

3. Telecommunication system according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the telephone lines (17, 23) are two-wire telephone lines.

4. Telecommunication system according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the satellite device (7) has an outdoor satellite unit (9) and [lacuna] indoor satellite unit (10).

5. Telecommunication system according to claim 4, characterized in that the outdoor satellite unit (9) has a satellite antenna ([lacuna] and a satellite signal transceiver (11).

6. Telecommunication system according to claim 5, characterized in that the outdoor satellite unit (9) has a mechanism for pointing the satellite antenna (9a).

7. Telecommunication system according to claim 1, characterized in that the satellite transmission link (6, 5, 8) includes at least one satellite (5).

8. Telecommunication system according to claim 4, characterized in that the indoor satellite unit (10) has a network interface for a local data network.

9. Telecommunication system according to claim 8, characterized in that the local data network is an Ethernet data network.

10. Telecommunication system according to claim 9, characterized in that the local data network is connected to the 10 Base S switching device (14).
