Abstract
A plurality of character strings corresponding to words or the like are displayed in the form of an at-a-glance list. A user can select a desired character string from among the displayed character strings, so that the selected character string is automatically input to fill in a character string display box. A new character string can be added to the list of registered character strings. Functions are also available for editorial operations, such as addition or deletion on the registered character strings. The user is relieved of the burden of inputting characters of the character string one by one, thus offering improvement in efficiency of input work, particularly when the word constituted by the character string is often used by the user.
