Abstract

A golf club head comprises a face member forming at least a part of the club face for hitting a ball, and a main body to which the face member is attached to form a junction in which a joint surface of the face member and a joint surface of the main body come into contact with each other, and at least one of the joint surface of the face member and the joint surface of the main body is machined using a machine tool such as NC lathe turning machine and NC milling machine.

Claims

1. A golf club head comprising

a face member forming at least a part of the club face for hitting a ball, and

a main body to which the face member is attached to form a junction in which a joint surface of the face member and a joint surface of the main body come into contact with each other, and at least one of the joint surface of the face member and the joint surface of the main body is machined using a machine tool.

2. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

the face member is a metal plate having a front face, a back face and a side face,

the main body has a face mount comprising a side-support wall for supporting the side face of the face member, and a back-support wall for supporting the back face of the face member,

the side-support wall and/or the back-support wall is the machined joint surface.

3. A golf club head according to claim 2, wherein

the side face and/or the back face of the face member is the machined joint surface.

4. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

said machined joint surface is a machined casting surface.

5. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

said machined joint surface is a machined forgded surface.

6. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

the main body is a cast article of a metal material, and

the joint surface of the main body is machined using the machine tool.

7. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

the face member is a cast article of a metal material, and

the joint surface of the face member is machined using the machine tool.

8. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

the face member is a forged article of a metal material, and

the joint surface of the face member is machined using the machine tool.

9. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

the main body is a cast article of a metal material,

the joint surface of the main body is machined using the machine tool,

the face member is a cast article of a metal material,

the joint surface of the face member is machined using the machine tool.

10. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

the main body is a cast article of a metal material,

the joint surface of the main body is machined using the machine tool,

the face member is a forged article of a metal material,

the joint surface of the face member is machined using the machine tool.

11. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

said machine tool is a NC milling machine.

12. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

said machine tool is a NC lathe turning machine.

13. A golf club head according to claim 1, wherein

said machine tool including a NC lathe turning machine and a NC milling machine.

14. A golf club head according to claim 2, wherein

the face mount further comprises a front-support part which, by its plastic deformation, secures the face member between this front-support part and said back-support wall.
