Abstract
A multi-unit pyrotechnic initiation system includes two or more pyrotechnic initiators molded in place into a base. Each initiator preferably includes a body overmolded around an igniter. The retainers of two or more pyrotechnic initiators may be formed together as part of a unitary substructure.

placing an igniter adjacent each said retainer;
placing said base, retainers, and igniters into a mold adapted to form an overmolded body around each said retainer and adjacent said igniter;
injecting liquid into said mold, said liquid adapted for injection molding; and
allowing said liquid to harden.

12. A method for making a multi-unit pyrotechnic initiation system, comprising the steps of:

providing a substructure comprising a plurality of retainers interconnected by a base;
placing an igniter adjacent each said retainer;
placing said substructure, retainers and igniters into a mold adapted to form an overmolded body around each said retainer and adjacent said igniter;
injecting liquid into said mold, said liquid adapted for injection molding; and
