2. The compound of claim 1, wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of aryl(C1-6alkyl), heteroaryl(C1-6alkyl), heterocyclyl(C1-6alkyl), hydroxy(C1-6alkyl), amino(C1-6alkyl), halo(C1-6alkyl), and C1-6 alkyl.

3. The compound of claim 1, wherein Y is O.

4. The compound of claim 1, wherein X is selected from the group consisting of CH2O, OCH2, and O.

5. The compound of claim 1, wherein Z is CH.

7. The compound of claim 1, wherein the compound is homochiral to the compound of Formula II.

8. The compound of claim 1, wherein at least two of R4, R5, and R6 are independently selected from the group consisting of aryl(C1-6 alkyl) and heteroaryl(C1-6 alkyl).

9. The compound of claim 8, wherein two of R4, R5, and R6 are independently selected from the group consisting of aryl(C1-6 alkyl) and heteroaryl(C1-6 alkyl) and the remaining one of R4, R5, and R6, if present, is hydrogen.

10. The compound according of claim 1, wherein said aryl(C1-6 alkyl) is (4-substituted)-aryl(C1-6 alkyl).

11. The compound of claim 9, wherein at least one of R4, R5, and R6 is selected from the group consisting of fluoro-substituted-aryl(C1-6 alkyl), and fluoro-substituted-heteroaryl(C1-6 alkyl).

The compound of claim 1, wherein the at least two of R4, R5, and R6 independently selected from the group consisting of aryl(C1-6 alkyl), heteroaryl(C1-6 alkyl), and heterocyclyl(C1-6 alkyl), are independently substituted 1, 2, or 3 times with a substituent independently selected from the group consisting of halogen and optionally substituted O—
- C1-6-alkyl.

i) one or more compounds of formula I, according to claim 1;
andii) at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient or carrier.

19. A method of inhibiting an activity of a monoamine receptor comprising contacting the monoamine receptor or a system containing the monoamine receptor with an effective amount of one or more of the compounds according to claim 1.

20. A method of treating a disease condition associated with a monoamine receptor comprising administering to a subject in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of one or more of the compounds of claim 1.

2. The compound of claim 1, wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of aryl(C1-6alkyl), heteroaryl(C1-6alkyl), heterocyclyl(C1-6alkyl), hydroxy(C1-6alkyl), amino(C1-6alkyl), halo(C1-6alkyl), and C1-6 alkyl.
